I started off thinking I wouldn't watch for an hour and 12 minutes, but I thoroughly enjoyed this and watched from start to finish. Great, relaxed interview/discussion. Thanks Now we just need one with Notorious Foodie lol

Great interview. I found Andy this past year and have loved watching his videos - didn't know much about him (I'm an American) so great hearing his story.

Hey Kaitlin, you, are doing great. its not always easy to support somebody and kudos to the both you. I'd imagine a fair few disagreements and all, Very happy for both you an Andy. My partner has such a similar personality to Andy and it felt like an instant connection to you both. Being together someone going through alcohol abuse +drug abuse, and all the complications that come along (breaking up, family support from one side etc) I really appreciate all of it, thank you for sharing

I mean, professional culinary world is so inhumanely stressful. Most, if not all, chefs, sous, commis, line, maitre'd, servers or even dishwashers have gotten addicted to drugs at some point. So, kudos for Andy for overcoming the worst

Thanks Alison, really appreciate that! 74 days in the bag now, now without a few slips off the wagon but a substantial reduction overall.

I did a mental health test at a GP. He said you need to get help. Ring these places. The first one to ring me back was a lady trying to find the best counsellor for me. So I spoke to her for about 5 mins and she said I have the perfect one for you. How are you going to pay?: I am a normal Aussie worker with a family and no health insurance. If I remember it was like $150 a visit. Can't afford that. Sorry I work sorry I'm an Aussie. Sorry I'm not a dole bludger. Still struggling. So glad Andy kicked arse. Normal (slash not under privileged) we get screwed.

Try some university clinics they’re staffed by provisional psychologists who charge around $30 an hour.

Medicare Mental Health Care Plan - I found a psychologist, 10 sessions for the year at $70 each out of pocket - still not cheap but far better than $150 and so worth it. Explore your options, there’s someone out there willing to help you and it won’t cost an arm & a leg.

Also if you walk into a church, any pastor or priest will counsel you for free, they would be happy to and are very skilled and experienced in doing it. I hope that tthis helps.

@@ellenmelon88some people are trying to avoid mental issues that come with being associated with the church. The worst place for the weary mind.

Try getting a mental health plan from the GP. You get rebates.
