The best backhand surfing I can remember. AI is so fearless on those backside snaps -- after each snap he either air drops back into the wave, re-enters on top of the foam ball, or both.
Bobby Martinez (at least at one point in time) was the best backside surfer in modern surfing. Well, after AI obviously! Miss you buddy. I miss your presence and your damn laugh. I'll never forget that short pit stop I spent on Oahu with Bruce at V house and it was flat with no swell in sight... But then you randomly just decided to island hop over to us and we were psyching! Then literally as soon as you got there like within 15 minutes a swell just popped up and by morning we woke up to uncrowded, clean pipe. Energy is everything here on Earth and I am convinced your energy attracted that swell. Fuck I miss your crazy ass I could go on and on. I'll treasure those memories forever. Shoots. You no what bro I don’t no why you were afraid to talk to him because he was the easiest dude in the world to talk to I’m sure if you did you would of chopped it up for awhile easy going guy down to earth the reason why he was so aggressive in the water was he could not except anything but absolute quality from his surfing and when he didn’t preform like he thought he should of and was most definitely capable off he got a little agro, but that’s why we all loved AI rest Peacefully brother we all miss ya.
I used to surf everyday, but I got a scholarship to study architecture in Germany, something I could not refuse. I think about surfing 24/7, can't wait to surf again.
I did a spin and win thing at a snow expo and won the "High 5" slot, I thought it was the film, nope. I got a literal palm on palm high 5, almost as good... i guess.
