This interview totally changed my perspective of Andy Mac, seems like a super solid dude who's very grounded. Props to him for making his passion into a career.
Andy macdonald came to my middle school when i was in 7th grade , but only 8th graders where allowed to see him for some reason and i remember talking my way into getting pulled outta class to see him skate flat at my school and talk for most kids it didnt mean much to them but to me that day ment the world andy macdonald gave me alot of drive as a kid just the thought of a pro coming to my school changed everything for me as a young skate rat now looking back def.a huge influence
I could've sworn he was at my middle school too in Maryland. I have this Mandela effect moment where I swear I saw his photo in a middle school yearbook. I tried going back to look for it and I can't find him now. Weird.
Andy is class.. He was a local at the Claremont skatepark in San Diego. Always friendly with everyone , never had that cocky pro attitude many dudes had back then. 92 - 95 from what I remember.
That was refreshing. Andy is his own man. We can all learn life lessons from this guy. Thanks for that. Now please get PAT DUFFY on. That would be sick.
I was expecting to get 20 mins into this interview and turn it off. WoW! What a exciting and captivating show!! 2 hours flew by def a top5 episode of mine. Great job!!!!
I always knew of Andy mac but never knew much about him, but watching this episode has made me a big fan just on how genuine he is never would’ve thought an Andy mac episode would be one of my favs
Andy Mac, thank you for staying true to yourself and not conceding to the pressure of what others expected. I have always been bummed on skaters hating on skaters when we have always been considered the outcasts.
Andy, so impressed to see what you have done professionally! Awesome person and really intelligent person. You helped me through sophomore chemistry as my lab partner at MHS! Lots of love and respect buddy!
I absolutely love the term he used 'puttin' out cigarettes' for when you set up for a trick. I've never heard it before. Great questions guys. Not knowing Andy, I didn't think I would enjoy this as much as I did. Kudos and happy new year!
You guys never cease to amazing me. Nothing seems force but rather yall just hanging out chopping it up with Andy. I’ve always respected him and now a deeper respect.
I am a 90's kid, started skating in 96. Was never a huge very fan but always had love and respec for Andy Mac. This was an amazing episode and you guys all killed it as usual. Definitely found a new or renewed love and respect for the legend Andy Mac. Was dope learning about how he came up and all his sponsors outside of Skatin. That's not selling out if you already use and love the product, it's genius to get paid for it. You guys are the best in the business 👊
Andy, Tony and Mike V were my absolutely first childhood skate heroes. So seeing this episode was a real treat! THANK YOU GUYS! I can't explain how much I love The Nine Club guys! I also try to support you as much as I can but the shipping to Czech Republic is REDICILOUS :D So I have only a bunch of stuff and the Nine Club x ES collab t-shirt on its way! But most importantly - I HAVE THE COPY of the original Mark Appleyards drawing with your signatures! I have it framed and it's my most prised possesion :) I somehow need to get signatures from Steezus and Eldie too! Because for me, they are a part of the show as much as you guys! Your 9 club gang is THE BEST! (read THE BEST in Eldies voice :-D)
My favorite part of these episodes is when the guests get some Nine Club gear. It feels like I'm getting a gift too. Great episode again fellas. Love the New Deal shop open/closed sign too.
Cant believe I missed this episode, Andy is the man. I remember I won a contest and I got a signed complete positive board from him. Still have it on my wall.
Such a great episode.....thank you guys for keeping this vision going and developing...Andy's the best .... we're claiming him forever at Maximo ....that's our guy....
Super rad interview. Never skated vert in my life but bought one of his Human boards in 96 that had the deepest concave ever. It was actually alot of fun to ride.
I remember seeing Andy skate at Ratz Skatepark in Biddeford, Maine back in 1992 or 1993. They had a pretty sick bowl and vert ramp in there, all indoors. Andy was already super good back then and a lot of fun to watch.
ONE OF MY HEROES! My first legit skate shoe was a Grey Andy Macdonald 3 Airwalks (if I recall correctly, it's the one with the translucent outsole with a graphic from back in the early 2000's). I skate street but the irony is his vert skating got me hyped to go out and shred hahaha Nice seeing Andy Mac a day before 2018 ends. Thanks The Nine Club!!!!
I was hoping to see "Kelly Hart as Andy Mac" in the titles, but Kelly Mac was alright too. Great episode as usual! Happy New Year to everyone who reads this, keep pushing!
The wishlist: Ricky Oyola Brent Atchley Rodney Torres Will Marshall John Shanahan Jahmal Williams Dan Wolfe Much love to you guys, thanks for giving me something to look forward to every week
My uncle Chad and Westley van annen used to skate with you a handful of times back in the day andy. Gunars elmuts has tons of archived photos of you skateboarding Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Keep ripping legend. Much love from Massachusetts.
Hyped on this interview.. use to hit up contests behind the shop on Melrose Andy! And was great friends with Mark McDonald (rip) from Newton North! Peace bro
