Here's my question to everyone questioning Reach Records and not mentioning Jesus all the time: Do you mention Jesus in every conversation that you have? If not, by your own argument, doesn't that mean you've become shallow and forgotten about God? NO!!! It's the same with these guys. They are reaching people with the gospel of Christ. Spread the love, not the skepticism.

If Christian Hip Hop sounds secular is because that is how you win the lost. It appeals to the sinner, but the Gospel is infused. Anyone that has been on an outreach(Hit the streets and witness), would know that secular hip hop conforms the mind. Every born again Christians had to kill their old self, but we gain witnessing tools from our worldly ways. That is why we have to hit all corners, so we can make disciples from ALL aspects of life. Before our Lord comes back to call his bride. We have to preach the Gospel to all corners of the world. - Mt 24:14, Mark 13:10. So who is ready for a street preach meeting?

Where in my post did I say conform?....LOL What I was saying is when you witness to someone, you can not just throw the gospel at them. They will simply walk away. You have to relate with them on some level. That is where your testimony comes into play. Before we found Christ. We all gained "tools" from our secular lives that we can use during an outreach. Have you ever shared a Lecrae song or an Andy Mineo song with someone who is not saved, that listens to hip-hop? What is there response? They like the song, and then they ask questions about what they are rapping about. BAM!! instant witnessing tool. Bro, I know it works. Been there done it!

If I read my post again. I can see where it would read as you explained. I agree with you on not using their tactics. What I'm saying as sinners we all had " skills" that died with our old self. 2 Cor 5:17. Relating with a someone during a witness by giving your testimony is a great tool. I have used this method(replacing secular hip hop with gospel rap) twice and both times they asked questions about Jesus. Unfortunately only one got saved. I definitely hear you bro. You comments make me stronger that their are still Christians that read their Word. 1 John 4 tells us that we should test the spirits to see if they are from God. 1 Thessalonians 5:21 tells us that we test all things; hold fast what is good. If you listen closely or look up the lyrics, you will find that he is talking about being unashamed (Romans 1:16). Also, about traveling to different countries and states to preach the gospel. You people should learn more about Andy before you criticize him. In fact, if you're a Christian, you shouldn't judge in the first place.

For those who are confused about the meaning of the song, Uno Uno Seis translates to One One Six, which has a couple references. The first and most important reference is Romans 1:16 I am unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ because it is the power of God, first for the Jew and then the Gentile. The second reference is the record label he is signed with. Andy Mineo is white and latino, so in my opinion he wants to make a song as sort of a shout out to his heritage. That being said I think he is depending on his fans to be intelligent enough to figure this out.

I agree DarcsenOfLegend! If you check out some of his podcasts, Andy Mineo is clearly all about Jesus and bringing the gospel to the world. In order to be IN the world but not OF the world we need to go where "careful Christians" dont go... such as - into the world of rap/hip-hop. I am a very strong Christian, firm believer in Jesus and His love for us, and I share with everyone I can - which includes sharing these songs with unbelievers. This music (as well as Tedashii, Lecrae etc) has been an amazing tool of evangelism and protecting people from the garbage that is heard in most rap and hip-hop songs now a days! Also (TYP) don't forget that in 2 Samuel 6: 14 it says "David danced with ALL HIS MIGHT" That sounds like a great party to me :)

Oh,I remember wT I was gonna say.... on the night of my son's burial it was dark, clouds all around, I looked up to the sky and it was , there was lightning all around, lites every were. we're. The awesome thing about Andy & the rest of 116 is that they represent Christ in a different way. They don't preach on every track, they get hype, they connect with others. So many Gospel singer & rappers give off this unintentional persona that they're better then everybody else. The 116 guys get onto other people's levels. Look people...I don't listen to rap very much (I am a Metal head) but I am Christian so I do enjoy some Christian rap now and again and reading the comments you people who are judging him for making a song that's suppose to be a pump up jam turned it into a debate about him not preaching the Gospel. There is at least a dozen references throughout the song pointing directly, unashamedly (see what I did there?) to Christ. And that is not even counting the endless times they say "1-1-6". The song lyrics doesn't need to be "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus" to make an impact. In fact, some songs can have a deeper impact if you have to think about the lyrics more. Case in point, my license plate says "on my 116". I have had so many opportunities to share my faith due to the random people coming up to me asking what the plate meant. Keep doing your thing guys! You are making an impact for the Kingdom of God!

I remember hearing Andy Mineo on the album Anomaly back in 2015 and i've been hooked on him since then. I love all kinds of the modern Christian music except the hardcore, the hardest i'll get is Red and Demon Hunter. Praise the LORD for the work that Lecrae and all these Christian rappers are doing for the kingdom without compromising Scripture, IT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

On this days where the youth is so difficult to reach, I don't see other way to do it, u can't reach the youth in the same way u reach a mature older person, the bible speaks about renew our minds cuz God knows better that the times will change, I've seen many teenagers come to the Lord through this kind of music, Andy is a young christian that not just praise the Lord bt also celebrates life, we don't need to live with the Jesus on our mouths to honor him, yet the lyrics make reference to Romans 1:16 this only weaken up the curiosity of the youth to know about it n then becomes engage in the meaning of the gospel, I'm just keep praying for Andy n the other christian rappers so the Lord keep give them wisdom n strength cuz the way they choose to spread the gospel is for the courage n unashamed...sayin that the rap world is a very tought world to conquer for the glory of God... Just to clear this up to try to stop a little bit of debate: This song refers to Romans 1:16 Romans 1:16 ESV For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. It has a fun beat and celebrates Andy's heritage. If you looked up the lyrics it also focuses on being unashamed of the gospel among the lyrics about the Hispanic heritage. It might not make sense to some unbelievers, but it still is a great, CLEAN song to listen to.

Did anyone here stop to think that maybe this will be a tool used to bring more Lations to Christ? I wonder if they may view this video and want to know more about them and start listening to his other music as well? I think of this the same way that Lecrae is trying to reach the non-believers as well. I am subscribed to Andy on FaceBook and he is always preaching gospel on there. "No one can come to Me, unless the Father who sent Me draw him: and I will raise him up on the last day.'' (John 6:44). So it is still God who does the drawing, and he is not limited in his approach to saving souls :)

Zweli Sibisi First of all, he said "I TRY to walk that narrow path." Basically what he's saying is that he's trying to live right, but being surrounded by the sin in the world makes it difficult at times (as it does for all of us). I think a lot of people are forgetting the fact that they are evangelists to the music industry. Their beats and raps appeal to secular people, but the raps are always about repping the Lord and unashamed believers. Rather than being so judgemental, take a step back and listen to the lyrics. Nowhere does it say "I'm doing drugs and rejecting Christ." I anything, they're saying "I tried drugs but they don't work, now God gives me all the satisfaction I need." I'll be praying for all those who think they're secular now. Don't forget that Lecrae and others like him are here to preach to the sick. Honestly I think andy mineo goes hard ... and for those people who say that he doesn't glorify God and is moving away from Him are wrong. What a shame. People on here criticizing him. He's not promoting drugs,alcohol, or defiling himself or women. Yet, he is getting looked at through a microscope.
