If Marc Bolan were alive when this song was recorded, he would have half of the publishing rights of this song. It's such a blatant and poorly done pastiche. I think we call all agree that Duran have done lots of songs where you think "this kinda sounds a bit like Roxy...or maybe Japan' but this song is honestly just bad. Andy Taylor could have found another band to join. He is not a lead singer or a frontman by any stretch of the imagination. Fantastically talented guitar player, yes. But "solo?" Nope.
