I'm watching this in the library and trying not to cry. Can we all pray for a miracle? Sending healing light, do what you do, please fellow Duranies. 🙏🏼💞💫
I purchased this album, when it came out, Love it! If the label released a single, it would probably have been edited a lot, lessening the effect. Although if edited carefully, just play it twice! `Just as nice!' This was played on the Album Rock FM radio stations, at the time. It's unpredictable: some records sell a lot, others more moderately. It's up to us, the Public. This is a much harder sound than most Duran Duran.
this album is sooooooo under rated. he was sooo way ahead of his time. Prayers for Mr. Taylor. May the Good Lord look into his eyes and heal him, pls dear Lord.
Take my hand or you'll be sorry I'm the music for your story Walk with me Through the lonely nights Follow me through the darkness Down deep, give me your kiss Come on baby I won't let you down Take my hand, don't ask why I can't wait forever Put your hand on my heart Swear to me when you say I might lie When I look into your eyes I could love you 'til forever When I look into your eyes Tell me why When I look into your eyes I could love you 'til forever When I look into your eyes I don't know why I love you When I don't even know you Trust in you I do the best I can Take my hand, don't ask why I can't wait forever Put your hand on my heart Swear to me when you say
Duran Duran must have held Andy back... As I recall this is what he put out after leaving the band... Always thought it was smokin' hot... still is!!! Way to Go Andy!
Andy Taylor, Duran Duran's black sheep, guitar rebel, bad boy & the only one from Duran Duran to have a somewhat successful solo album. I think "Thunder" is a really good album and should of been promoted better. The whole album has several awesome tunes! ♥
Actually it was promoted pretty heavily. I can't speak for the rest of the US, but where I lived in NJ/NYC area, it was in good rotation on radio and there was a lot of posters around at record stores. The record had some good reviews but just wasn't embraced by the general public. I bought the album, even though I was more of a Heavy Metal and Thrash fan, I still liked the whole album. One of my fondest memories was blasting this on my "boom box" in my garage while I was washing my car in the driveway. Sometimes some albums just fall through the cracks, especially back then in the 80's. I think because this was more of a "cross-over" style it didn't fit in with the 'pop' music of the time, and was less of a 'hair metal" entry than other bands at the time.
I just finished listening to Andy's new solo album and it was solid, as were his vocals. I loved it. I remember this song so well when it was released. One of my favorite songs off the album. It breaks my heart he's suffering from stage 4 prostate cancer. I pray he will have a miracle cure but he'll always live on in the wonderful music he created with DD and his solo work.
he should have left duran duran a lot sooner than he did . he was born to rock . i bought this album on cassette in 1986 and wore it out ! in the early 2000s , i stumbled on it in a used c.d. store ! i bought it and still listen to it . great album folks ! i,m 51 and still listen in 2021 !
One of the greatest rock songs Andy Taylor has a powerful beautiful voice good song writer one of the greatest guitar player in rock music. The 80s is the greatest decade for rock n hard rock music, 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹
I think we were spoiled by what we had. As the years went by, we missed so many great songs. Not to mention the artists themselves! This album is now my favorite 80s album!
I haven't heard a song with such good replay value in ages! Must've repeated it about twenty times before I went to sleep last night. How did I not know about him sooner?
Had this recorded in cassette...I still remember how much effort took me to find someone who had the original vinyl...Nowadays you have only to "youtube" a song and you have it...Different eras, but to be sincere I miss those times when you had to "sweat" to acquire good and rare music...!!!
Listening to my discover weekly list today....there's this hot guy's picture with this song playing, great voice, amazing guitar work..... Andy Taylor... WHAAAT?!?!..... Steve Jones, as in Sex Pistols Steve Jones?!?!.....WHAAAT?!?! In '83, my DD poster was replaced by Power Station - mainly due to Andy's guitar work and Robert Palmer 💕 This has made my day a happy one!

Pure ignorance. This is not Russian, is Greek. The resemblance exists because the Russian alphabet is based on the Cyrillic alphabet which on its part is based on the Greek alphabet. Your comment may sound "funny" for people with your level of education but in reality is plain ignorant and blunt. Poor you.
I live in Latin America, not Greece. But even if I did, this doesn't necessarily mean that your economical situation is better than mine. You just have more chances to have a better economical situation. But anyway, based on the language of your comments, the syntax and the content it seems that I am talking with a person with low IQ. I really don't know if you have a health problem and your brain cannot function properly or you are just incapable of complex thoughts but in any case, again, poor you.
@EpiphoneGear , I do believe Andy was a vital part of Duran Duran's sound. It's obvious that Duran Duran were more successful band wise when Andy was involved.
Man, this is such a rare song now. People in my age group (born after 1990) probably only know it because of Armand Van Helden sampling it in the mid-2000s when sampling old songs in house tracks was a fad. It's a shame because this song really deserved to be a classic - The song and video are both amazing and get me really hyped up!
When the guitar player is a better singer than the lead singer. Andy never got the credit he deserved as a guitarist or a singer. He as a much better voice than Simon imo Glad Andy got a chance to showcase it
it seems like yesterday when I heard and saw the video on mtv. I’m glad I saw you Andy in San Diego the astronaut tour. I recently saw Duran Duran in Chula Vista my hometown hope to see you again. You are amazing my thoughts and prayers are with you. 😊
It's one of the most underrated albums of the 80s. great with duran duran but he wanted to rock and you could see that with the power station. thunder was a great album front to back, but I think people thought Take it Easy was a single off the album, and it wasn't so it didn't get the credit it deserved.
Hi. 🙂 Please, let us pray together. Dear God who art in heaven hallow be thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever in Jesus Christ's name we pray, amen. 💖
Andy, dude, if you ever swing by here, I just wanna let you know: Take It Easy kept me breathing on 2 different occasions in my fuktup life. Thanks for that, mate..
This song and "Take It Easy" are my favorite two from him. I wish he had it greater. I love his tunes. He deserved a greater shot than he was given. Not bloody fair! Guy was talented too. I mean his music didn't have the overall edge of Duran Duran but he could've done something greater.
I named my son after Andy Taylor my son is now 20 years old I miss you Andy I hope that you do another tour with Duran Duran because I don't miss it or
Andy Smoak Couldn't be more true! a lot of listeners don't realize it, but Andy's strong rock vouce provided the backing vocals, needed to make Simon's (unconventional) voice work. Studio and stage.
