I agree with Anele, if you don't have the money to pay someone a decent salary then just look after your own kids.

I’m afraid she’s right, thes nannies also become teachers, chefs etc the money is too little

She's right, R2500? You can't afford a nanny

I got a shock of my life recently looking for a nanny im based in Turkey and their minimum wage is from 10 000tl and Türkiye lira now is equivalent to our SA rand. I literally almost cried thinking how much our nannies are paid in SA. I also realised just how things are so bad back at home because the person looking for a nanny to pay R2500 is probably also not earning much but it still doesn't take away the wrong in it😢

Depends what they do.. my live in nanny does not cook or help my child with homework. All she does is clean and laundry and gets my son ready for school and bed. It depends what she does..

oo-my friend pay them way less and some months not at all and the amazing part is, they stay loyal. in the peanuts i am paying and on time, they don't stay loyal lol. i am challenged to give an increase now coz i got someone loyal this year. unfortunately, it won't be the minimum wage due to my household conditions and won't compare myself to the joneses. if things change for the better, i will definitely pay that coz yes, they do and sacrifice a lot just like i am

If you go shop with R1000 anywhere these days, you most probably only come out with a very few bags. Now imagine the helper still needs transport and must pay her other bills etc... I think when you break it down you realize its really just not enough🤷🏽‍♀️

I agree with Anele, R2500 is very small. Grocery for my family of 5 is more than R2500, and I'm talking about we just buying essentials only. Life these days is expensive
@matsuluka

Its all about what you want as a person. There's no one forced to take 2500 but ghose who really appreaciate it can take the job. You must stop making standards about other people's lives, you keep on complaining about Zimbabweans that are taking your jobs and forgeting your high standards. 2500 can go a long way. Your helper for an 8 year old is doing nothing during the day because the kid is at school. You pay for your helper's grocer rates, data while she's with you. The only thing she does is to go home on weekends or month end. If you can give your helper 5000 or 6000 and she takes 3 taxis to reach her work place that means she will use more than 50% of her salary.

Kanti how much are we earning ? To say 2500 is disgusting as if 26k is not the National average salary which means more than half of the workforce earns less? Aibo Then get a better job ke if 2.5 is not enough, South Africa is a free market akere ? No one is being forced to work as a nanny . Direct your anger at the state of affairs in the country , not just the products of it
@matsuluka
@matsuluka Год назад
You said it better. There are people who earn your 50Ks or more but its hard to reach a month having a 2500. These people are companing about someone looking after an 8 year old who's at school during the day and the helper will only get invilved in preparing for school the following day. At home you buy grocer,electricity, rates, water , data etc and the helper can use all those for free. Imagine giving your helper 5000 and she stays far from where you stay and 80% of that 5K is spent on taxi fare bcz she takes 3 taxis to reach her work place. SAns got standards thats why foreigners took over many things

@@matsuluka yho people forget making money is hard in this country , if you think 2500 is too small for you then try being a lawyer , no one is stopping anyone from going to law school 😂 aibo South Africans are entitled . And Anele is being unrealistic, she is rich so it’s good that she has a lot of money to pay for nannies but the rest of us are normal people with normal low salaries
@matsuluka
@matsuluka Год назад
@Ladynilow basile aba bango Anele, they think everyone works on a Radio. Its simple a person must be a lawyer or be in radio to get paid more. No one is forcing anyone to accept 2500
