I really like the Oxford Handbook of Anaesthesia; it helped me a lot during my first year. It has pretty short chapters on different types of surgeries and what you need to know and expect from the anaesthesiologist's perspective. When I had some surgeries I've never had to manage before and didn't have much time to thouroughly read literature about it I could alwas just read the 5-10minute chapters in the book and felt like a had a rough plan on what was going to happen. It is also quite small so it is perfect to take with you to your hospital on your night shifts.
Thank you for your videos! I'm a 4th year medical student aspiring to specialise in Anaesthesia. I'm having my Anaesthesia electives in two months time and this guide is just what I was looking for and needed. Please continue making more videos on your journey and guides cause there's really very little Anaesthesia content creators
Great video man! I really learned a lot! I’m gonna start Donating to the Anesthesiologist Foundation in June since It was hard for me to go to college to be a Anesthesiologist after I graduated high school in 08 because of my cerebral palsy! You rock man
For me Lee's Synopsis of Anaesthesia, Morgan and Mikhail, Oxford Handbook of Anaesthesia, Peck and Hill book on Anaesthetics Pharmacology worked wonders..
Why I'm here I'm doing my residency in ob/gyn😁 jokes aside your videos are very informative doc i always come here when i need motivation keep up the good work

This video is extremely helpful! Second year medical student here and I'll be having my elective rotation this June in Anesthesiology at a tertiary hospital. Pretty similarly, we haven't had anesth lectures since our obstetrics block last year, so I was a bit lost. Using your recommendations as a guide for some initial reading!
I just love your videos. I'm not a resident just former nurse. But am confused with where your level is? Like are u in fellowship. U seem so calm and knowledgeable that u should be totally out of school and on your own! Love your contents! Thank u
I love to learn and watch how to use Anesthesia, Thank you for your videos, I have watched Dr Max anesthesia work videos several months, Though I am not Anesthesiologist, Because I sell anesthesia Mask and respiratory product , I should learn and know how to use it and How is operating room work, For training that is very great resource. Great job!
I’d like to see a video about the start of your journey and getting into medical school if you could do one. I have ambitions of becoming a cardio vascular anesthesiologist consultant & I’m currently working towards obtaining my bsn and getting 6 Lors before graduating. I’ve seen that having 2 in science classes one in a non science class, one from voluntary work + 2 from shadowing in clinical’s maybe helpful for getting into a program besides the obvious, having a high mcat score I’m planning on taking the mcat soon as well.
Thanks for sharing man. Hope your Glassdoor compensation is at least as much as the market average for your specialty in city state or geographical location. Would trust you to put me under general anesthesia if I did end up getting surgery 🧐
Thanks alot for uploading such helpful videos. I want to ask you what to you have to say about Oxford handbook of anesthesia? Have you ever used it? Kindly guide me
First year SRNA here - any free trials of True Learn?! (Didn’t see an option on the website). Not sure if the test banks would be relevant for my current training.
So I’m looking to go back to school and becoming an anesthesiologist and there’s one thing I’m stuck on. It’s what should someone major in and what bachelors should I shoot for. I’m looking everywhere and can’t get a solid answer for it everything just says to dabble in a bit of everything. What would you recommend?
A degree that has overlap with the pre-reqs of med school (that you would need to take regardless). Also check out CRNA and AA if you find the path to becoming an anesthesiologist too long. Of course there are differences between the 3, so weigh out the pros and cons
@@gracep2910 yep already have I knocked out my associates in applied science of welding technology straight out of high school and learned a couple other trades that can help me get a job where I’m at. It’s all about the mines here but if I can work hard enough to not have to fall back to mining and go into a career I want more I will.
