One of the best directors of all time-Ang Lee.

i watched Brokeback Mountain, and i think what made it good was that a Taiwanese director, who himself said "what do i know about Western cowboys?" made a touching movie about the love between two gay cowboys. in Asian culture being gay is unacceptable. i think Ang Lee really broke boundries with Brokeback Mountain. and it was a great film, amazing acting and really touching story, with no special effects or sugar coating. props to him!

... a daft interpretation on your part, given that Eastwood has endorsed same-sex marriage and condemned opponents of gay marriage and given that Eastwood has directed two films (1997's "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" and 2011's "J. Edgar") that focused on a gay relationship, with "J. Edgar" proving especially touching in that regard.

Sorry, but the high level of a movie like King Kong, a remake of one of the greatest hollywood classics, is only product of the good job of its directing. Peter Jackson deserved the award!
