I work as an RN sa surgery unit (preoperatively and postoperatively). Ideally, bago pa man mag induct ng Anesthesia, all necessary assessment & procedure consent should be done first. I agree with Sir Tulfo. And based on my work experience, the only time the procedure/surgery is cancelled by the surgeon is when there is an ACTUAL risk that will complicate the surgery or the recovery phase (ex: vital signs unstable, having chest pain, and the like). I just don't know if this medical mission is an election propaganda or not but if the reason behind the cancellation of this procedure is because the kid & his family is not from that place, then I sense that this has something to do with politics. In the first place, sa registration pa lang, alam na dapat ng medical team kung eligible yong bata for the said procedure or not. Rise up Philippines. God bless Philippines.

Any invasive major or minor procedure that will be done to the patients should be screened prior. Especially if anesthesia is involved either minor or general. Because the moment the medical staff administered any treatment that involve direct bedside care without the consent or proper evaluation of the patient is considered assault or battery. That is why prior to doing direct contact to the patients the doctor should re-evaluate the situation and there’s such a thing of “ time out” in which to finalized if the procedure is really appropriate or should be halted if there’s any changes in the patients condition.

The argument lies on a medical mission that has its own double standard of choosing who can avail or not. The fact that this activity is a public service, it must be willing to serve disregard less as to from what barangay as long as it is within the jurisdiction of its municipality or city for that matter. Public service rendered must bear no political affiliation but for the benefit of all its constituents.

FYI: administration of anesthesia is base on patient’s weight. The doctor should have a registered nurse to do the preliminary assessment to the patient so that the doctor will have an idea of the patient’s baseline condition. The doctor should be held responsible for his act in this situation. Certain action should be done to the doctor’s license , due to the fact he admitted that he had indeed committed failure to his work and the fact he already administered anesthesia to the patient without prior assessment. He should be held accountable for his practicing license. So to Mr. Tulfo I would expect that you will Not ignore the negligent of the doctor who did this to the patient and medical disciplinary action should be done.

well, the surgeon gets to decide if he will continue or not a certain procedure depende sa judgement nya since sya ang nasa field, but then before pa lang kasi pahigain sa table may mga assessment and history taking na. kawawa naman yong bata kung politics ang issue dito, na trauma na, napahiya pa.

I work as an OR nurse/circulating RN, every situation po is different.. Even if it is under general anesthesia already, surgery can be aborted at any time.. esp when it is deemed necessary that d patient condition will get compromised … so it doesnt matter wether under anesthesia or not. Khit po local MAC lng basta mg desaturate and O2 or other vital signs,kelangan prioritized muna safety ng patient before ituloy ang surgery

Right or wrong.. its the decision of the practitioner to decide to go ahead or not. It's his liability and license at stake . A medical doctor is very different sa mga nagtutuli na walang lisensya. Dahil doctor puede siyang ihabla at danyos.

Sa part 14:19 - 14:22 local anesthesia lng po ang gngamit sa circumcisions. Hndi po nkakatulog ang pasyente kpag tinurukan ng local anesthesia. Gising po at aware ang pasyente kya may possibility po tlga na ma compromised ang procedure kpag ngwala ang pasyente.

Yes the doctor have purgative towards the surgery. If ever it’s minor or major surgery still it’s have an affect to the patient it self. Ok then we’re saying it’s just a tuli. The child can go next year or when he is mentality ready. Wag nyong basta bastahin ung nahihimatay because it cause in balances and may go into more serious complication in the end. Just my opinion here.

for my experienced nman po sa anak ko naturukan na ng anesthesia tapos biglang umayaw nang marinig ang sigaw ng pinsan na tinutuli,ok lng din nman sabi ng doctor huwag pilitin,kasi my posibilidad na gagalaw sya habang tinutuli.

ALL DOCTORS THERAPEUTIC problem solver is always done by RISK ANALYSIS, their is always a doubt on their decisions in giving advice, or prescriptions for they know that every person responds differently. Even certain antibiotics do not respond to anyone who is sick. Its like a hit and miss. RISK ANALYSIS benefit may or may not work on every single patient, so its good to find knowledgeable trusted doctor FOR your health concern.

Mga anak ko ako ang nagconvinced magpatuli. Ang doctor evaluated bago sila na isalang. Pero kasama doon sa evaluation ang readiness ng putotoy ng bata. True yan. Parang yung balat ng putotoy yata. Saka meron 2 procedures. sleep maconfine for few hours sa hospital or awake may anethesia din.

Based on my experience having twice major operation, before eh anestesia e ka-conduct tlaga nila ang mga medical screening vital signs etc. If bfore e go sa O.R E check again if my problem s katawan or bp hindi e tutuloy ang anestesia there for lalo na ang operation. But the case like this meron tlaga problema or personal interest kng bkit d tnuloy yung iperation knowing na my pre-screening pla .

But the medical conditions changes after induction of anesthesia is acceptable to cancel the procedure since it is something that you did not expect however it is not acceptable to cancel a procedure because you did not get the complete information or medical history of the patient or any information needed prior to any procedures. This is the reason their is an inform consent to inform the pt or guardian regarding the procedure assess the pt and expectations after the procedure and discharged planning.

Yung pinsan ko po naturukan na ng anesthesia non kaso namumuti sya kaya tinatanong ng doctor kung gusto nya ituloy o hindi kasi nahihilo din siya. Kahit naturukan na po yung bata ng anesthesia kung di po niya kaya ipatuloy pwede pong hindi ituloy.

Hindi po ako doctor, observer lang po ako sa hospital,nagtuli na din ako as a registered nurse. May initial na pong assessment yan usually, then makakapasa yung patient, but also meron final pang assessment yan from the nurse or surgeon na gagawa ng procedure, if they think in their professional knowledge or judgment na ndi fit yung patient to do the surgery kahit may anesthesia or wala, may prerogative ang nurse or surgeon to stop the surgery. And this applies not only on major surgeries, but also in minor or any sugeries. Maaaring wala pang namatay sa tuli pero ndi yun ang tamang pagiisip or pagjudge sa isang case. Sa pagpedicure nga may nagkakaproblema eh hahahah..just kidding po

I don’t understand all of Tagalog, but I understood, they DID a pre assessment but the surgeon still has the final say and did another assessment before he can proceed. I’m not sure I believe the mother fully. Does the Mayor/Doctor do this for free or at a very low cost and voluntarily for the locals?

Kahit na nga po hindi taga town namin nung nagpa opera para matanggal yung cyst inoperahan nya po ng libre.
