After 37 games, Manchester City are top with 84 points, Arsenal are 2nd with 83points, and Tottenham 3rd with 82 points. In the last game of the season, Tottenham host Manchester City, knowing their only chance of winning their first Premier League title is beating them at the Tottenham Staduim, however by doing that they know that an Arsenal win would then hand them the title as will a draw due to their superior goal difference to Manchester City. Arsenal would also have a superior goal difference to Spurs in this hypothetical scenario. Arsenal only had to win their last game at home to Newcastle, a potentially tricky game but one you would expect them to win 8 times out of 10 at the Emirates. What would Tottenham fans want in that situation? Knowing that by them winning it would be their only chance of winning their first premiership, but only if Arsenal lost at home to Newcastle. Would they rather just hand the title to Man City knowing that it would stop Arsenal winning the league even if it also meant that Spurs wouldnt?
