QUICK APOLOGY FOR THE MISUSE OF COMMUNISM AS THE ANALOGY I WAS TRYING TO USE. IT CAME OUT WRONG BUT I COULDNT RERECORD THE SHOW FOR THE 5TH TIME. IGNORE THE COMMUNISM COMPARISON BUT THE REST OF THE VIDEO I STAND BY!
It should be quoted as it was, Ange because your team didnt finish better than Arsenal - then its up to us to support a tottenham loss so we dont have to deal with their fans giving us a bit of banter and have any bragging rights. Aka id rather lose an opportunity Champions league and the Marquee players that might join our club, the financial windfall and that experience and even possibly 5th position just so Arsenal doesn't lift the trophy. I, as a true Spurs fan, dont want my team winning 100% of the time because factors outside us winning a game far are more important than our team doing its best every time they put on our Jersey. Thats what it was and there is no other reason for such a loser mentality especially when West Ham could show up and beat City and Arsenal lifts the trophy anyway.
All well and good Ange, so let’s see how your skills pan out next season and then see if you can motivate/ coach these motley players to greater things COYS
@@paulpavli7206Paul if ange gets backed and not necessarily superstars but the players that can play his system he will do well I personally think defence is good few players upfront that can finish this inturn will pressure of the defence personally from I have seen he is the man for our club
Finally someone speaking sense. Not only the winning mentality but also winning culture... How is Ange gonna build that in these conditions... it does not sit well in my book. Also we demand the absolutt best out of our club and players... and then you say it is allright for the fans cheering us to lose... wtf 😮 Glad you spoke some sense !
Sean, your perseverance and persistence should be commended. We as a Spurs family need to stick together. The last week has been pretty horrid for all of us. The only advice I would offer you is to be careful which guests you invite on, perhaps steer clear of the polarising ones. Take care and keep up the good work. 😘
To be fair, Sean couldn’t be held responsible, they should be ashamed of themselves, we all have a right to an opinion, but need to harbour them with decorum.
If your love for Spurs is not sufficient to withstand the mockery of others, then you need to grow a backbone! There are 20 teams competing and only one can win, so the bar is high. I’m proud to have supported our team in the good and bad times for 6 decades. COS
I watched a video of our chair of the supporters trust saying he wanted Man City to win….I don’t personally want him representing my voice for the fans, don’t understand how that attitude can be tenable at that level of influence
I am a Spurs fan and it's my first time here on this channel. I just wanted to say that Yuito Suzuki would be a great addition to the team as he is quite versatile and we also know that Japan has produced some quality players like Kubo, Mitoma, Endo etc. I just hope that we can bring him in this transfer window
My dear Sean (and Bugsy), I totally agree that the mindset of many fans at the stadium was distressing! I will say, as a recently lapsed season ticket holder, that I would never, NEVER, EVER, shout for the opposition in the stadium, and I completely accept Ange’s distressed response. However, strictly between you and I, I was ambivalent about winning on this one occasion and would have been relaxed about any result. I don’t think we are ready for CL this year but let’s hope we now qualify for EL (!)
He is playing in Denmark, not in Sweden. I actually went and saw him thi last weekend. He is the very best player in Brøndby and one of the best offensive player in the league, but idk if he is good enough for spurs tho
You absolutely nailed it regarding where our priorities should lie, if we want our club to progress to the top, where we should be. Also, if we HAD won on Tuesday night, we would not be worrying so much about the game tomorrow and how important it is to win. I saw many blogs and supporters saying that it didn’t matter if we lost on Tuesday night, as the priory was to keep Arsenal from winning the league. I have no love for Arsenal, but I love Tottenham above all over things, and if the supporters had offered a tidal-wave of support on Tuesday night, instead of such a subdued support, and it had carried us in to a win, how would we all be thinking and talking today! Ange hits the nail on the had - winning every game must be our priority. Anything else is defeatist and plays right into our past over the last 20-30 years. I remember clearly the Tottenham of the 1950s and 1960s. I remember clearly where our priorities lay. I’ve just subscribed - thanks for the measured, open and honest comment - it’s much needed at the moment.
The issue was that everyone was constructing this narrative of if Spurs beat City they'll hand Arsenal the title. I had Arsenal fans telling me they hoped Spurs did them a favour by beating City. I'm sure many Spurs fans received the same message too. There were even rumors Arsenal fans snuck into the game to cheer on Spurs...With all this on mind the natural reaction for most Spurs fans was to want the opposite result for a team that is our fiercest rival. The media and the football community at large were stoking the flames and creating this narrative that antagonistized the Spurs fans into that reaction and if we're honest many football fans from different clubs would've reacted in the exact same way. We've heard Arsenal fans say similar things about us, we've had Inter fans behave the same way when Juve was about to lift a Serie A title too. What's annoying me is whether he would have the brass neck to have said these things about Celtic if they were in a similar position..Combined with his snarky jibe at our trophy drought a few days ago I get the impression he feels emboldened to talk like this because he understands our reputation as a club isn't in good standing right now in footballing circle's.
Rough going with the re-recording but.. Sean, Brondby is in the Danish league.. it's a big rival of FC Copenhagen, Teemu Pukki and Hradecky who's Leverkusen's goalie were roommates at some point while they played there.
Well balanced Sean. The sad state of the Spurs fans has been shown to other clubs fanbases including Spurs rivals. Frankly, it is embarrassing and a mockery that a fan would want to lose a game under any circumstance. Thankfully we have Ange as our Manager that doesn't share that ethos. When it comes to understanding rivalries it would be pretty hard to top Celtic and Rangers. He knows all too well about rival clubs.
I honestly think that’s just an opinion that prevails if you look online too much. Most people I reckon don’t really care and would have done the same thing in our situation. If you look in comment sections people find any excuse to hate spurs more than they already do, same with other clubs they hate.
Watched this right after Ali Gold, two sensible souls. This debate may not be relevant in the future if we have a winning mentality and I'm all for that. But we are where we are, a season of progress and hope that we can build on it next year. So my regret at losing was tempered by the fact that it didn't help the folk donw the road. But to want Spurs to lose, no that's a step too far.
You know one of the best most powerful questions one can ask to one’s self Sean ? How could I be wrong ??? You are one of the very few in this mad fudball World where I feel that comes across in your content. Your channel is better for it. Keep it up 👍
I sit in a majority season ticket holder section, on Tuesday there were not many regulars present and I saw, people clapping the city goal, people doing the Poznan, people moaning at Vicario for making saves. It was the most awful and awkward game I have been to in the 20+ years I've been going to Spurs.
I'm only one one minute in and I love the video already. Bless you Sean! In a week when you've been under the weather that is dedication! Thanks for all your efforts.
My message , to Sean ,age and all spurs fan's. Next season we need to pull together more than ever , with team up the road doing OK, we have to be laze focused on success, ,we need to get get to that place together , there will bumps in the road and people will tell us we are never going to make it , they will call us spursy , but we will keep fighting and we will prove everybody wrong , because deep down , we all want the same thing , a successful trophies winning team.COYS
Hey Sean, First, thanks for all you do. Apprciate your perspectives and willingness to hear all sides to facilitate conversation. Agree with your perspectives on this one. I veiw Ange's most recent comments to be a masterclass in leadership. Change and culture shifts are difficult, he is taking them head on. Regardless of folks positions, healthy disucussions for us to be united for Tottenham and this vision, to be champions, is critical. Tottenham In.
Sean your content and dedication to giving us factual updates is up there with Gold , a tip of the hat to you sir 👍. Keep bringing us what us fans need . Coys
Hi Sean. Hope you are well. A few points on your video (sorry for the long reply): 1. I agree with you in what you said. The "little club mentality" is letting us down. And it is not Levy who's doing it. It's some part of the fan base more interested on Woolwich not winning than Spurs playing Champions League. This is not how we build a winning team 2. Both Gallagher (don't get the hype...) and Gibbs-White do not add anything to what we have. Get a proper DM (spend the money there if you buying a midfielder) 3. Gimenez (or a Zahovic) should be the target! Suzuki might be good, but... 4. Do not apologise for the Communist statement... this is what some want. And when they get "Levy/Enic out", they will blame the next CEO. And the most important is: Keep on doing the amazing job you do (even without the star of the program.. Bugsy 😅). Your take on Spurs is, no doubt, very clear and shows how much you love our club.
While I don't agree with being so giddy about losing to City to spite Arsenal. Levy himself has said finishing above Arsenal is his greatest achievement. (Not reaching the CL final??) And sacked a serial winner the week of a final. And Ange himself threw away the league cup this season. I didn't want CL football for the record, we'd just be making the numbers up. I'd rather try and win the Europa (if we secure it)
mason needs to watch closely with ange imo this man has been a coach under ange jose conte and i think poch if hes taken his notes and makes his own philosophy combining different aspects he could be a amazing coach
Great video, per usual Sean. Im in the same boat as far as not rooting for losses, and what sort of culture and attitude is required for success. The fact is that a healthy rivalry is one that encourages improvement. Arsenal's success will only make Spurs better in this scenario. rivalry becomes unhealthy when it results in cynicism and divisiveness. I understand the cnicism after decades of frustration, but I encourage supporters to not let thier own feelings affect thier duties negatively.
I was at the stadium. I didn’t hear anyone cheering city but I did hear and see us too focused on Arsenal. Shit atmosphere that I hope I never have to endure again. Whist I am happy when “they” lose, Tottenham winning is the most important thing to me.
yes Sean he is correct ,its the winning mentality, like most saying " I dont mind if we dont win as long as I have the experience and good football" ... And the board as well better listen up , stop this profit chase and improve the winning trophies .....
Full marks for 4th attempt!! English fans don't surmount the international fan base, which is significant - they don't give a "rats arse" about Arsenal - they, like Ange, just want a win.
@0:25 Classic Freudian slip lol. Hope you bring Levy out, I mean Bugsy out next time. 😉 I agree about the Japanese as a film fan/designer, their poster designs are so unique at times.
This convo is stupid, yes we want to win so win it yourself. But gameweek 37 when we are literally 99% guaranteed to finish 5th, I’m not sure how we are supposed to “win it yourself” unless we got 30 points from the victory.
Some fans are so anti Levy that they have lost the comradery and the love for the attempt at success for the club, Give Ange a chance and see what the board give to him over the summer before we make any judgement, some fans are just toxic
I don’t think players height is unimportant, it’s an immediate indicator on a players style of play even though you know nothing else about them. There are outliers of course, just like anything else in football.
@@SpursTalkShow Just wondering if you feel if someone like him could be a viable option at Spurs for the wing. Also, Suzuki could prove a great alternative to out front line. Something different
Sean. You should be in the changing room prior to our games mate. We'd never have lost to Fulham, Newcastle, Liverpool, Wolves twice, the Goons at home, West Ham. Come on Sean put yourself front and centre
It was the same at Old Trafford on Sunday when Man Utd hosted Arsenal.. United fans prefer an Arsenal PL title win rather than a City 4 peat, and the atmosphere showed it. But then there's nothing to see there - Sky Sports have been banging on that Spurs fans hoped their team lost to City but never went there with United fans wanting to see Arsenal pip City.
One of the best you tubers . Just need to get out of the awful guest list … Johno , paul and the other bod on the show the other night Total switch off those people
Daily walks are for my thoughts, the streams i want to get mixed views. I like them all, and many others but you cant please everyone. That particular show was chaos tho and that was my fault.
@@SpursTalkShow it's wearing thin on your viewers though Sean. just about had enough of 'Ange Out' Jonny and Savva's negative waffling. The City game revealed a lot about some Spurs fans and RU-vidrs... keep up the good work though Sean, you're one of the best if not THE best Spurs channel now, love the morning walks :)
It seems it's predominantly English fans and active social media types are on this "lose so Arsenal don't win" attitude. Are too precious and would do anything to protect themselves from Arsenal fan banter. Those not addicted to social media or outside London simply focus on their team winning. It's ok to be happy that Arsenal is thwarted but I feel it's disrespectful to club, manager, and especially players to exhibit these feelings in front of them.
Surely ange knows we are not ready for champions league yet everybody thinks a season in europa league is more beneficial to us surely we have got better chance of winning a.trophy ( the measure of success ) at europa level … more chance to win games at Europa league at this stage of development for the team and young players
People have to think long term. If tottengam had won againt city the results would be: - Huge belief in the system and possitive end to the year - Possible CL spot and money that could be used on new players - Ingrained winning mentatilty Outcomes of loosing the game/or if theyd thrown it - long term loosing mindset - miss out on CL and possibly Europa - every single player and staffs integrity questioned All at the expense of arsenal not winning?
This analysis is 100% true. Socialism/communism thinks it's better for everyone to be equally poor. Fans that thought it better for us and Arsenal to lose than to strive to win are everything that is wrong with a section of our fanbase. And like you say some of these people want us to fail so they can blame Levy just like the political Left want Britain to fail so they can blame the Tories. I will always want Spurs to win first. COYS
Agreed….can’t pull for a Spurs loss just because it helps Arsenal or anyone else. I will always root for a Spurs win. That said, it was a nice consolation prize and I went into it with the knowledge that it would be a win-win as something positive would come from either outcome. As for your other point, yeah there are certainly RU-vidrs claiming to be Spurs fans whose business interests or agenda require turmoil or failings at the club and they disgust me. At least those that wanted to kill off Arsenal’s title dreams had a football reason for favoring that outcome. Those that want Tottenham to fail to further their own interests are far worse…they are simply miserable and selfish people and the antithesis of what it means to be a member of a Spurs supporter community (emphasis on “supporter” and “community”).
Not too sure about the communism analogy. Fans didn't want no-one else to succeed. They wanted Woolwich to fail. It's a poor analogy for various reasons. Disclaimer: I'm not a communist and I wanted Spurs to win that game.
Sean I really like your content. But not understanding the Arsenal/Spurs dynamic is maybe because of your background. The difference is the majority of spurs fans have Arsenal friends or family who will consistently ram this down our throat for the next 20 years, ala winning the league at our ground and stealing our captain for nothing. What you said is equal to us welcoming Sol Campbell back as a Spurs legend and saying “You picked success” well done mate we fully understand your decision. It ridiculous and Sol will be hated by most Spurs fans for life, and rightly so. No Spurs fan will pick us losing over Arsenal’s success whoever with a 10% chance of getting top 4 (which isn’t a trophy) I’ll take a loss to City every day of the week.
I 💯 get it the dynamic and i also said I think it means more locally in north London. I understand it’s important but it’s too high up the priority list for me. If rivalries make you want to lose your own game of football just to hurt them then I thinks it’s gone too far
Ange needs to lighten up this was once in lifetime scenairo with Arsenal and winning the prem, move on Ange if 80 percent were happy to lose this game to stop Arsenal - so be it. What it does NOT mean is that our whole mentality is wrong and we feel that for EVERY game, you know that is utter BS. I would love to see you practice what you preach, move on ALL the players that are not good enough to challenge the top 3 for the PREM, including some of your current staff. Now THAT is a winning mentality Ange !✌
I understand what your saying and in any other situation agreed but not this one. Its like LA with the bloods and crips round these sides.😂 just more condensed I could tell you some stories you wouldn't believe. And I was born in chalk farm which was more arsenal than spurs and ended up moving to Tottenham. Its red or white. Never mind Chelsea and west ham there's not enough room to be nice. Did you see the video of the arsenal game outside the ground with the spurs fans?? That's what it's like. That will never change. Well maybe if they moved back to South London 😂
I'm fed up of hearing that spurs fans haven't got a winning mentality I never chose Spurs I was born into the club they are my second religion to me and my family I didn't want to lose against Man City but it didn't hurt me as bad not winning because of the Arsenal situation yes champions League would have been great I think fifth if we can do it and don't mess up on the last game is a good building block for next season Ange still needs to learn about the European side of the football and how to contend with the rest of the European clubs Europa League football will teach him that and his Tottenham he is trying to build I hope he gets the time but sadly because of the hierarchy at tottenham i don't see it . I did not agree with the fans celebrating Man City scoreing against us and especially the ones I've seen wearing Man City shirts but I understand because of the rivalry because of the rivalry is a turf rivalry and North London is ours and was never theres. I think as a fan base and as a team we need to think realistically we are building and need to build properly this time and all things go well Champions League next season now I'm going to be 33 this year so that's showing you how many times I've seen Spurs lift a cup and been successful I am sick of tired being so close but still being so far. I do agree with you on your points and I do think Ange isn't the man to take us to next level I think he's the right man to build a team to be put on the parth to the next level of winning every think who knows I could be wrong and I hope I am I love to win something with ange then maybe if we do he will be the right man to finally build us a Dynasty of winning football and to be the best in the world but first must come England.
Ange is our leader we must back him or forever be spursy bunch ange is a must win guy we the fans must back him Levy is on board he knows it time to grow up get mean and nasty
💯 agree Sean, Ange is trying to build a way of playing and a mentality . We can’t waste energy and time on other teams and how Spurs can affect them . Use that on Spurs and get Spurs to a point where it doesn’t matter want any other teams doesn’t as we are just too good. COYS💙🤍
Sean- haven’t you just essentially made Hotspur Hippie’s exact point about a cohort of support- including the guy Savva who to anyone objective ( ? You have a blind spot)is completely Levy out and by extension Ange, as him succeeding ruins their r’aisin d’etre. It’s toxic man.
Well said that man!! Stop worrying about others, it’s a loser sad mentality, ultimately rooted in jealousy. We had 3 distinct camps of Spurs fans on Tuesday. #1 Tottenham loss to stop Arsenal, end of. Happy to cheer on City. #2 Tottenham win (for the CL) or defeat (for Arsenal 2nd place). Muted response to a loss. #3 Tottenham win, end of. I’m a #3, yeah probably a borderline #2, ‘king hate A*rsenal. I happily admit to loving the sight of Legohead melting down or watching AFC going apocalyptic when they inevitably bottle it. But… we are Tottenham first and foremost, which means engaging in schadenfreud should never been in conflict with our own interests. “Don’t tell us how we should feel” I hear from a few vocal doughnuts. Get that, but you’ve completely missed the point the point. HOW any fan can be a #1, i.e. go to a home match and actively CHEER on the opposition is absolutely beyond my understanding. To CHEER opposition goals is utterly cringeworthy and makes these fans part of the problem. Not Daniel Levy and ENIC who have pumped in hundreds of millions, not Ange who has been brought in to win things, not the players who gave it everything, it’s these snowflake fans in camp #1. I’d hope good will ultimately come from this, I actually think it will. 100% behind Ange, upwards and onwards…
