Tatsuyuki Maeda, the composer of this track, should have been recruited for Sonic Superstars. SEGA and Sonic Team undervalue this talented individual, refusing to appoint him sound director and relegating him to SFX and dialogue editing. I had to express my disappointment by returning to a cover that had been in the works since September last year. As the title states, this is a 3D Blast arrangement done in Maeda's style. All voices except for the custom one are Maeda's.

This remix give me flashbacks of play Sonic 3D Blast along with all three Sonic trilogy game on Sega Genesis era on Mega Collection back in 2004. Sonic 3D Blast was my favorite Sega Genesis game due catchy soundtrack i end up enjoyed it

The angel island that unfortunately nobody thinks of. Everyone thinks of the Sonic 3 level. Also, anyone else notice how the background of this level looks similar to the skybox used in the Mystic Ruins jungle?

certainly more unique than its OTHER counterpart since youre on whatevers left of sky sanctuary after mecha sonic 2's kamikaze destroyed most of it, but it couldve used a different name like sanctuary ruins

I love the S3D songs and their style, Diamond Dust Act 1 is my personal favorite and this (to me) feels like that song. Everything in this track just sounds right to me and I can’t explain it. The worst part is that I never fully listened to all three of the Sonic Advance soundtracks and now I feel guilty about it.

Man what a coincidence. In the absence of any good 2D games, I started playing Sonic Advance again 2 days ago, and remember thinking how I lacked appreciation for this song back in the day. Great work as always.

Remixes like these makes me appreciate these songs more, I always found the GBA songs strange to my ears, like oddly sad? But like this the melody sounds relaxing and beautiful, great remix!

Your arrangement is much livelier than the GBA original. Excellent work. This track reminds me a lot of The Amazing Water from NiGHTS into Dreams. Was that track composed by Maeda, as well?

@@BouncyGlowsMusicRoom I did look into it and it appears my hunch wasn't correct. The bulk of the NiGHTS soundtrack seems to have been done by Tomoko Sasaki, along with Naofumi Hataya and Fumie Kumatani.

You know, remixes like this somehow serve as a reminder that not only is 3D Blast isn't in Origins (which is absolutely stupid because this game had more influence on the franchise than a lot of people think) and that the Advance games are still stuck in GBA hell, those games would highly benefit from having an increased field of view as that would fix 90% of their issues (at least to me anyways) Then again, if they were to do it but handle it as poorly as recent Sonic ports, then on a second thought maybe they shouldn't touch those games.

They could've put the 3D Blast Director's Cut and the Saturn version for Origins. At-least 3D Blast is in the Genesis Classics compilation in modern Platforms though.

@@retrofan4963 the Saturn version was a MASSIVE missed opportunity since that version has never seen a re-release of any kind (besides a 97 PC version which in itself had a number of differences compared to Saturn).

@@neonjm8289 Yeah. Origins is a perfect opportunity for the Saturn version to finally be ported. And 3D Blast Director's Cut could've alligned with Sonic 1-3 & Knuckles in Origins as passionate fan projects by professional developers. But in the Saturn's version case, it's probably due to the Saturn be tricky to emulate, which is probably the reason why Knuckles Chaotix didn't got ported too due to the tricky emulation of the 32X. That's why in Sonic's Gems Collection, they use the PC version of Sonic R instead of the Saturn version despite the Saturn version has aspects that are superior. But since we're talking about recent gen consoles these days, I would be surprised this is still the case as the reason why developers don't want to bother port Saturn games.
