Played a game against Venom today. Aerial Agility in Angel form helped me ignore 4 boost damage and 3 boost abilities from one attack. And I drew a card! Felt good.
Interesting look at Angel! I actually don't like playing him with all the alter-ego card draw - I don't think it's bad, but it relies on getting a steady supply of Metamorphosis and playing a bunch of supports when I think his baseline output is extremely high. That's not to say I don't use Metamorphosis for that sweet card draw + Worthington Industries all the time, but I don't really build into going AE. I've found most of my success with him just sprinkling in a bunch of resource generators/card draw and adding a few cheap allies to supplement his defense. Picking his best aspect is tough. For me, for solo, I think it's Justice
That sounds fun! I need to try that out, but I have not found it to be too too hard to hit Metamorphosis frequently once built out! I think Soaring Agility is really good! For some reason I just am not super excited about it 😂
I know they have said in interviews that the hero is a snapshot of that character at a certain point in time, so Angel was when he was with Xforce. So that is the reasoning thematically, but they also need to consider mechanical balance and if he had the xmen trait I think he would have access to a couple of "additional" tools that could break him!
Great video as always! In addition to discussing the key cards, i love how you comment on the aspects. I always find that very interesting with newly released heroes.
I've been having fun using Soaring acrobatics on aerial allies too. Psylocke can use it pretty well since it's a skill and she always has Angel ally. Add in 1 or 2 more like Vivian and it could be a good card for her too
Out of ALL the NextEvolution videos, this is the one I was looking forward to most. I'm so happy you put this out. I can't wait to deep dive into Angel myself (second favorite mutant in Marvel)
I'm new to the game; love your videos to help me learn! Only thing I'd say is missing is maybe a discussion of who pairs well with him as a teammate in multiplayer. Is that a silly question? I don't know- my core set is on the way!
Another fabtastic review. Thank you I have a question. Many new psychic cards released. Does it change ranking of Phoenix for you? I think she is mostly at B because of her nemesis so I feel like no card can really make her go to top tier. What do you think?
Thank you!! In my last ranking we had most of the Psionic cards already in the ranking, I think the new ones that came in Psylockes pack give her a okay boost but I’m not too sure I would really run a lot in her kit. I need to try her out with them, but I don’t think it’ll move too too much!
I now have Angel and built an aggression deck. I notice the acceleration icon when in Archangel form. Does the threat acceleration fall-off after Archangel changes form? I see nothing in the insert detailing the rule
The acceleration icon on Archangel only matters for stage 1 of the villain phase, if you are in archangel form then you need to add another threat! Hope that helps!!
@NelsonAllOverCards I use both as my only resources. Also include Atlas Bear and IPAC for even more card draw. I feel it does lack ariel cards that other aspects provide, but the ability to shuffle back his kit and its almost guaranteed to draw them again means I'm spaming his ariel cards multiple times, which is the same if not better than aspect ariel cards imo. Hope summers to tutor his wings Forge to tutor mansion or weapon x Angel has so much to offer in basic It really surprised me a lot
@@nocturnalduck21 oh dang that is really cool! Using hope to grab wings is a fantastic idea! I just built a fun meditation deck with him and realized that so many of the cards are basic! He really does some cool stuff with the gray package!
