I don't understand how this episode can be hated. Angel (and Buffy) were a mix of serious/dramatic episodes with comedic episodes. This was another one. Plus, Spike vs Angel, soul or soulless on either side, is comedy GOLD!
My favorite season of Angel is season one. My favorite episode of the show is called "I've Got You Under My Skin". Which that is season one episode fourteen.
James reads the Dresden Files Audiobooks. He's just as awesoe on those as he is on Angel. All the voices, distinct enough that a listener can tell what character is who.
@@VelvetKisses21 It's easy to understand, Miss. See, you simply take into account the loud, overly vocal minority of fans of fantasy and science fiction who shriek like you were murdering their dog when they see any kind of levity or humor or fun in their dark fantasy stories.
I met spike at comic cone one year and I mentioned this epsidoe as my favorite angel moment. He said they had to reshoot like ten times because he was laughing too much at fighting the puppet 😂 Such a nice guy too. :)
Nick Mesogianes ...My nephew met him too. He said he's a nice guy too...I once line jumped just to shake his hand. Which he did. But his handler yelled at me. My nephew reminded him of the story. Being diabetic, it was either I pay to meet him, or pass out. He understood...said he'd like to meet me someday. I can't wait!
@tararocksong5085 , Limey is a common insult for the Irish to call the English, since there was a history of tyranny. (Others use it too at times.) Blimey is used to indicate surprise. By that point, the fight was long underway and there is little surprise going on. And the word was said out of frustration not surprise. The closed captions on the DVD say "limey."
Buffy would love this version of Angel. She would be torn between making a witty remark and cuddling with him as she sleeps. I think Angel wouldnt mind the latter.
I vaguely remember Drusilla saying they used to put crosses in each other's beds. Weird family dynamic; Angel was Dru's sire, Dru was Spike's... and they act like Angel is a twelve-year-old and Spike is ten. Of course, Darla was Angel's sire and they got just as jiggy as Dru and Spike... (spew)
@@christinejanis6552 I love how Spike says "You're a bloody puppet!!" and then it cuts to Angel smashing him through the doors. I really wish Buffy could have seen this.
@@anatoldenevers237 spike wasn’t fighting serious lol, angel wasn’t trying hurt him but take out his frustration on spike (hence when he walked out the elevator he collected himself and came to terms with what he was and announced the obvious to everyone while asserting dominance). Spike was just enjoying the moment of what happened with angel and was just all around distracted by it as well. Spike let it go even with the circumstances. It really shows their relationship alil more. It’s like big brother and little brother.
I loved this episode to Angel, Spike's reaction totally had me rolling when he said "you're a bloody puppet." Imagine if Buffy were here and alive she would've tried not to laugh, but found him adorable and cute like that. I missed this series of Angel since my childhood. Back in grammar school and high school days. I would get up at 6:00am just to watch Angel good old days. 👌😂😂😂🤣
This is my husband's favorite. In 2017, we met James Marsters, and I told him that my husband loved this episode. I told him sometimes randomly, my husband will say, "You're a wee little puppet man !" James started laughing.
I mean it is Spike, they man that drove into Sunnydale smoking as the sun slowly roasted him and using alcohol to put out the flames. I would be more surprised if he DIDN'T drive the car into the ocean. Lol
Only Joss Whedon could get away with turning a main character into a muppet for an episode. I cry laughing every time I see this scene. Spike's joy at seeing Angel is just too funny. I can't imagine how many takes it took to get that scene done without everyone falling over laughing.
T rust me if buffy and the Scooby gang and faith, if they saw this, ever1 will be wetting themselves with laughter the whole day! Vampire Angel turned into a puppet..... (I'm crying..... On floor rolling in laughter hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ha)
My daughter asked me about this episode a couple of days ago. She found out I was rewatching and asked if I got to the “puppet one yet” 15 years old. I brought her up right. 😆
This was on roughly at 9:45pm when my family was asleep and I did my best not to laugh the house down when Angel was a puppet and the whole fight happened. I love this episode so much
Okay... so I just watched this episode for the first time and I am trying not to cry laughing, especially every time they do an action scene where Angel is supposed to be running or jumping about but they clearly just lobbed the puppet across the room... and the line "...And my nose comes off," almost had me in stitches.
Oh god, I'm crying. This never stops being hilarious. I completely lose it at the initial fight and then again when Spike slams him into the wall. OMG XD
In an alternate universe, Joss Whedon would be working on an episode for a Justice League television series where some of the Justice League members were turned into cartoon characters.
This episode is the WEIRDEST thing I have ever seen. And I watch a lot of sci fi!! Loved it though, so bizarre it was cute. Thanks for putting this up.
Rather Angle liked it or not Spike was the little brother he never wanted. He literally beat his ass and then told Harmony to get Spike a car after he destoryed the last one
