AND classically trained at Yale=== all a threat to the Oscars status quo. This is why they wont give her an Oscar for any of her actual acting roles. She also refuses to take roles that denigrate Black women and people. Oscars HATES that narrative. Don't believe me? Look at the roles that have been awarded Oscars to BW. They almost always have BW in mammy, maids, sex toys of white men, severely dysfunctional women , or straight up slave narratives. A drop dead, gorgeous BW who is ivy league trained with a gorgeous, successful husband and family is NOT the narrative that makes most losers fee comfortable about themselves. SO predictable.

Angela Bassett earned that Oscar back in the early 90s for portraying Tina's story to the masses. And in our hearts she already had it. It is mentioned always and baffling always that she did not win. But we see Tina found her extraordinary success the world over, so it's hardly surprising. Glad for this lovely lady regardless. And looking forward to more movies of hers as I grow older.

I have no qualms or issues with her acting. I mean people have been called over actors for years, like lets say William Shatner, but we all still love the dude.
