Dame Angela Lansbury, the iconic actress and singer whose career spanned over 80 years in the entertainment industry, has died, her family announced Tuesday. She was 96. CBS2's Dick Brennan reports.
Rest in Peace Angela! International treasure! Positive role model for so many girls! A TRUE "lady"! A "class act" in every sense of the word! The world has lost a bright light! Bless you!
For the wages of sin is death, (she died, therefore she was a sinner deserving of hell and then the lake of fire on judgement day) but the free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus christ our Lord.
A brilliantly talented actress and open-hearted person. She was loved worldwide for TV's Murder she Wrote, but she also played two of the most diabolically evil female characters in film history: the maid to Charles Boyer and Ingrid Bergman in the iconic film "Gaslight" and the psychopathic mother of Laurence Harvey in the controversial "The Manchurian Candidate." What a range, what a talent, what a life! RIP, Dame Angela, our Auntie Mame!
Jessica Fletcher the Lady from "Murder She Wrote" died. *I used to watch that show with my Grandmother every night **That and "Golden Girls". I'm a BIGG Fan of "Golden Girls" **Those shows helped me go to sleep at night 🌉
OMG! I loved each one of episodes of the "Murder She Wrote" that was broadcast in Japan on NHK decades ago. She was such a gentle kind elegant woman. I wonder why on earth all those famous nice people die at the age of 96. Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Hanae Mori and now Angela Lansbury...
I was watching some shows on Netflix, Hulu, Peacock, Tubi, Disney Plus, etc. Not to mention that I was back then halfway finished with The Dick Van Dyke Show on Peacock. Out of the show's subject, I was like, "Mom, Angela Lansbury died." Then, I immediately watched Beauty and the Beast on Disney Plus. Now the movie is sadder, but I still need the film.
Everybody seems to forget how marvelous she was as Semadar in "Samson and Delilah " 1949 Cecil B. de Mille s masterpiece , co starring with Hedy Lamarrr , Victor Mature and George Sanders !
Her first movie was Gaslight (from which came the term "gaslighting"). She was the best Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. And, like he said, a prodigious voice actor/singer. A sad day. 🕯💔
