She wasn't properly diagnosed until she was 10, her early years were difficult, her peers didn't understand why she had to carry the pumps around on a trolley, they were too heavy for her to carry in a shoulder bag, and they laughed at her small stature and taunted her, she needed professional help to overcome the issues that were caused, and her own resentment of the situation she was in, but then, she found her therapy, singing, and the two hours a day she can be free of the pumps and tubes, that's when she can soar, and shine, and be truly free, and because her time for singing is so restricted, she only sings songs that mean something to her, and there have been a number of songs on RU-vid that have deep meaning for her, I mentioned them in an early comment to you. Emma is now touring with Andre RIeu, this week she's in Paris, at the start of the tour section in France, and she's effectively booked until at least the end of the year, and I'm hoping that Andre will keep her as part of his extended family after that, it's a good place for her technically, and the extended family will give Emma the support and love that will enable her to feel secure and comfortable in a very different environment, and at the same time, Andre's wings will be the cover to protect Emma from the vultures of the music industry that would seek to exploit her unique qualities and skills. A youtube search for Emma will find a large number of songs that she's done, among an even bigger number of reactions to her singing, and I'm sure you will find her work very pleasing and encouraging, she has a way of breaking even the hardest heart, she sings in ways that expose her vulnerability, without looking for sympathy, and that's one of the reasons why her video of Voila has gone more than viral, the youtube version has had over 42 million views at this stage, and there's a similar number or even more on other social media channels, and this is only the start, as she travels with Andre, and sings even more new songs, in front of huge audiences, her popularity will soar even higher, across even more countries, and for me, that is a wonderful reward for the dedication she's shown to achieving her goal, she is already so much more than just a singer, she's several rungs further up that ladder already, simply because of the incredible quality of what she does, and the wonderful guidance that she is getting with Andre, who is clearly very happy to have her involved with and close to his extended family that is the orchestra, and she's clearly very much at home with them all. They are a small group, and one of their main people is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It would be wonderful news to hear that they have been able to change the outlook for Emma and others, it would be tragic if Emma were unable to continue to sing like she does, while she looks stunning on stage, her stamina is not good, so it is a very delicate balance to maintain her health, it would be so good to hear that the situation has been changed by the work the foundation are doing, Emma would then be free to spend more time doing what she loves so dearly.
