Angelina Jolie Wins Best Actress In A Mini-Series - Golden Globes 1999 

Angelina Jolie and Michael Jackson must have said "I love you" eight million times in their lives. Two very very loving human beings who were slandered by the media for years.

Gia was one of her best performances.

A real, vulnerable true human who was treated like a commodity to sell headlines and now doesn't open her heart to us.

She used to certainly bare her soul, and then the media turned it around and threw it in her face, She always says she was misinterpreted, So she closed herself off and is now unreachable. I do, however, think that she's not the ice queen she portays herself to be in her personal life.

The sad thing about watching this is how closed off being in the public eye has made her. She was so open and you could see right into her soul back then. Now she's become an ice queen. Not that she is unlikable. She just does not share herself on camera anymore. She's like a statue now. I hope she's still this way in her real life.

She should have got an Oscar for this movie.

Had it not been a film made for television,she would probably have won the Oscar for Best Actress.

It is so charming the way she mentioned Elizabeth Mitchell. :) There is no doubt, both very pretty ladies and very talented and charismatic actresses. They were perfect partners in Gia. Both were so giving and so convincing... Bravo! I love both deeply! They are beautiful inside and out.

Jolie has been called out many times for expressing her love for her brother. She has been smeared in the media for having an 'odd' r'ship with him. All, of course, untrue (see 'actors studio, Angelina Jolie', where she explains so much), and she has reacted to such remarks with grace and, indeed, detachment, not giving the mudslingers credit. I wish, truly wish, that I could have the loving, caring r'ship with my sibling, that she has with hers. Not something to be scandalized, but applauded.

To this day, she is still trying to give the award to other people.

Oh yes, and I also applaud her for being able to express her caring and feelings for her sibling, a feeling that many of us would never express publicly. But she does! I'm sick of people calling her our for everything she does, from adopting a family (a blessing, not a scandal) to the roles she takes to her sometimes offbeat nature. I love offbeat people, call them eccentric, weird, whatever, for i'm one of them. We give others something to talk about and I'd rather be 'eccentric' than 'normal.'

That was an incredible movie and important I think for any young girls considering a career in modelling to see. I have spoken to former models who confirm the lifestyle drugs etc. It's just another form of show business and many of the girls are young and un chaperoned. Angelina puts so much of herself into roles she is one of very few who is on par with men in action films also. She is tough you just know she does many of her own stunts.

wow....interesting.

One takeaway is that she’s always been thin. Arms are super thin. We just were so taken by the rest of her we didn’t even look there. Plus as a young person you attribute it to youth. But as a woman in her 40s this type of thinness comes across as frailty. So when I hear myself complaining at how thin she’s getting I will need to look back at this time and slap myself for being obnoxious.
