Yeah, no, that just adds up. About 27 makes a lot of sense. We all have our tastes but cycling through them you can't leave them out of the top 5, they'll mess you up just the same as the other favorites. Wouldn't surprise me at all if we all had some different ones but somewhere close to 27 in the top 5.
I`ll say she fits music. Lana, Elvis, Billie Holiday, Etta James, Amy . . . . . . . . Born To Die. This girl was born to sing, and create music. No doubt ever. The tone in Angelina's voice in this is astounding. I'm not a fan of the song itself, but her performance is impeccable & oh so much better than Lana's original, IMO.
You can’t simply say that. Lana’s voice is original and unique. This girl tries to adjust her voice to sound like Lana sounds in this song. I’d recommend you to listen to Lana’s version more carefully then comment.

@@keithserafyI like how Angelina covers this song. I appreciate it. But the point I want to make is that Lana originally sounds like that in the song. However, Angelina uses her voice to sound like her, which is obviously understood while listening. I don't think Angelina's real voice is like that. I'm a huge fan of Lana, maybe that's why I hear more clearly and see the difference. :)
It's a shame that the camera angle hides Angelina's mouth with the pop filter. I laugh when I occasionally see some comment that says Angelina is not actually singing this! This is truly one of Angelina's best performances.
This is in my top 170 Angelina performances. Never ceases to amaze me. How she makes me favor all her covers over the original is beyond me. She is simply amazing and The Greatest of all Time.
Angelina’s Lana Del Rey covers have always been among my favorites.. It’s her tone on these that stop you dead in your tracks.. Same with her cover of “ stay “ done approximately at the same time
Lana wrote a beautiful song and she has a pleasant voice, but Angelina brings her songs to life! Angelina has a much broader range and the added emotional performance really enhances the songs.
I think I’ve seen all of your Angelina reactions, and I’ve enjoyed hearing your comments. I’d like to suggest that you take a look at some of Angelina’s Adele covers. Adele is a great songwriter and singer, but the personal lyrics and melancholy in her songs are right in Angelina’s wheelhouse. I’m a huge fan of Adele, but Angelina just has more vocal tools to go along with her interpretative skills. All her Adele covers are amazing, but I’ll suggest two. Just recently, Angelina covered Adele’s smash hit, Easy on Me. As with Lana Del Ray, Angelina’s cover initially reminds you of Adele’s version, but then you hear just remarkable vocal dynamics that I haven’t heard anyone match. But my favorite is 12 year old Angelina, with Ivan on guitar backing her, singing Adele’s “A Million Years Ago”. It’s staggering. 12 years old .. amazing! P.S. She's turning 17 on January 10th. Do remember that Suspicious Minds was just three or so months ago. Her voice has really matured .. and her way of making that song " her own" is truly magnificent. Of course "I Put A Spell On You" was also .. very much so .. "her own" .. and she was only 9.

Josh, your response to your "discovery" of AJ, is shared by everyone, including myself. You are correct that it is hard to remember that she is so young in each of these covers and sounds so great. I understand Angelina, in addition to her native Norwegian language is fluent in English, Japanese (her maternal grandfather) and Urdu (her maternal Iranian grandmother).
One of my top 5 A.J. covers. Her flexibility is why we never get bored. Who else can I listen to every day for 8 years and not get bored. A. J. is better than Lana live. Her voice is more consistent. Lana can be brilliant or off you never know what you are hoping to get.
Josh, you touch on Angelina's language, which is Norwegian; her accent along with the pronunciation of English words, produces a different sound to the lyrics sounds. Angelina was 12 yrs old went she covered "Born to Die," Although she will be 17 yrs old on Jan 10th and has mastered the "English language," her accent is no longer notable.
Be sure to do her originals at some point, love your reactions to her, but it feels like it's time for that, she has a years worth amazing covers, it won't get stale, but a change of pace in the artist's story might be good timing. Oslo, What is life, shield, all at around 12. Million Miles and 7th heaven at 14 almost 15 under Republic records. Million Miles is my favorite I think, most days. IIRC you haven't done one yet.

The only thing that makes this one just okay for me is because of the lyrics she gets wrong. But because English isn’t her first language, I can mostly overlook it lol. Seeing as you like Lana Del Rey, I’m curious if you’ve ever listened to Ethel Cain. She’s very similar, but in a lot of ways much more dynamic with lyrics and storytelling. Same sort of general genre - folk-pop Americana, but Ethel is a persona created by an artist whose name is Hayden. She created Ethel and an entire story surrounding her. The album ‘Preachers Daughter’ is a concept album that tells a story from start to end. About a girl who leaves her small town, falls in love on the road, and then is killed and cannibalized by her lover lol. Sounds crazy, but my God is that album gold. Her song American teenager is about her neighbor who left to fight in the cold war and died but it’s set to a super catchy and upbeat track so most people miss the point entirely. But a standout from that album is for sure A House In Nebraska. I highly recommend.
