But Angelina Jordan is greater than that perfection, she is more perfection than that perfection we know of. Which is why you'll become speechless and difficult for anyone to describe. Angelina makes old songs new. She has sung so many songs I have heard countless times in my life yet when I listen to her version, it feels like the first time. I understand the story of the song far better when Angelina sings it.

Ella Fitzgerald made this song famous and she was voted the top jazz singer of all time. Angelina stays 'spot on' with Ella's rendition but show's her genius in making it her own. This is accomplished by her simply slowing it down a bit more than Ella. 10 years old, no studio, and only a guitarist keeping time. Result, to me, is the best version of the song I have ever heard.

Alex, Thanks so much for your reaction to this very special performance. Cole Porter wrote this in 1944. Ella Fitzgerald set the "Gold Standard " until this little girl stepped onto a rooftop in Oslo. The clarity, lightness and simplicity of her presentation is unmatched. Combined with the setting and production quality, it's absolute perfection. It will always be one of my top 3 Angelina performances.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for playing this! Angelina puts the song/music and lyrics first. To convey the message of the text and music to the listener. That's what a real artist does! Angelina is a master at this. Then, of course, she has a huge toolbox with various voice tricks to pick out if she wants! Angelina doesn't focus on showing off with spectacular high or long notes etc! Unless it is required to convey a feeling to the listener. She doesn't belong to the type of singer who "look at me singing"

One of my favorite Angelina performances. So beautiful. Yes you are right, she doesn’t need much more than her voice. She does many homemade performances at the 11-12 year old period which are just her and a guitar or a backing track. The homemade videos from that period are some of her best.

Alex, mesmerizing is a good adjective for Angelina. The timing, often monotone notes, and cadence makes this song so challenging, and yet not for Angelina. She leads us through this rendition of ‘Every Time We Say Goodbye’ adeptly and as you said, mesmerizingly. Thank you.

This was her good bye to Norway when her family first moved to LA. She performed this on Norwegian television on the roof of an office building. How they achieved this quality of sound outdoors in the wind is beyond me.

Some of her best live performances are “Lovin’ You” when she was 11. The next one is her rehearsal for the Quincy Jones 85th birthday concert when she was 12.
