A vocal coach at Talent Development Coaching said after hearing this performance "There are so many famous people, but they don't come close to the talent that this girl has, musically speaking, her voice, her ideas, the sense of her arrangements, etc. She's very good, I like her a lot." That pretty much says it all! You think you know how good she is now, but with only a few songs under your belt, you have so many more surprises ahead. After you have heard 30-40 more songs from many different eras, styles & genre of music over the last 100 years, then you will have a better appreciation of her off-the-charts talent. Never fear, after you've done all that, you will still have 90-100 more songs to be impressed by. She's amazing!

Her oriiginal songs Shield and Million Miles will soon be followed by an album that she's working on, and lots of people are speculating that it will be originals. I read that her awareness of poverty began with following her grandfather around as he brought food and necessities to homeless people. Talk about a character-forming experience! I also think her cover of Adele's A Million Years Ago is stunning. She seems to do well in the millions!

For originals, I would recommend her live performance of "Shield", written for her parents, and the live studio performance of "Million Miles" written for her late grandfather. Live covers that I love are "Feelin' Good" and "It's a Man's World". Really, you can't go wrong with Angelina.

In my impression people that like Angie's voice often like her covers of their favorite singers the most. She's somehow retaining the identity of the original while putting her own touch on top. Get use to it! Every time one listen to a new cover or original song of AJ one is always stunned by her artistry. She sound like no one else. She always put her own twist to her cover songs. She is a true and complete artist not just a great vocalist.

I love Elton and Freddy and yet Angelina transformed two of their most iconic songs and made them relevant again. I'm Still Holding Out For You" is a song written by someone else but she recorded at his request is a song that could have made the top 100 if it had been released. It wasn't because mom thought the lyrics were inappropriate for a 10 year old. I believe "Above The Water"an edm song was also written for her. AJ wrote and performed "Oslo" a dedication to her hometown, "What Is Life" written at 11and performed at 12, "Shield" a James Bond type song and of course "Million Miles" just released as her first official video from Republic Records. AJ is the best addiction I ever have. I found Dimash in 2019 and I love him, but then in begining of year 2020 I found her. And it was game over for Dimash. She is just pure magic.

All she does is stand in one spot and pulls you into her her voice, it’s like hypnotic. Incredible!!!

Her cover of "I'd Rather go Blind" is phenomenal. There are a few original songs that she has, "Shield," "What is Life," and her most recent original, from her upcoming album, "Million Miles." I'm yet to find a song she's performed that hasn't brought tears to my eyes, and goosebumps across my skin. She's an incredible talent, beautiful young lady, and wonderful person. She's someone to look up to, but I feel she'd never look down on anyone. The world is lucky to have a presence like hers in it's midst.

Angelina really is something else. She used Sara Barreilles version of this song as a basis, and we could/can all hear how great an artist Angelina is.

When you said that she expressed the vibe of this song-actually, one of Angelina’s many, many talents is to give you her interpretation of the lyrics. For me, she does that better than anyone I have ever heard. And I’ve listened to music actively from the 1950’s. I’m sure I heard Elton’s original hundreds of times. You could not live in the 70’s and not hear Elton’s amazing catalog of music. But honestly, hearing Angelina sing this was the first time the message of the lyrics became clear to me. I listened to Elton and heard music and saw the show. With Angelina, there’s no show. Her perfect choice of embellishments is with her voice, not her clothes or eyeglasses or the driving band behind her. It’s Angelina, with her magical voice connecting immediately with each individual listener. She brought this song to life for me, and I thought her treatment of the melancholic lyrics was perfect.

Jim thanks for your new wonderful reaction with Angelina, I like this version of the song of her, so soft, melancholic and slowed down and with those fantastic vocal games that really changed this old Elton John song, even if she started from the version, perhaps not very well known, by Sara Bareilles. Angelina is very comfortable with an extremely reduced musical accompaniment, she so can better express her fantastic voice in complete freedom and valorize her profoundly jazzy formation (at 13 years old!). From the first time I listened to her, with the lights centralizing her, the just hinted musical carpet (so different from the original song) and her dress perfectly in character, it completely captured me. After listening to you two previous reactions to Angelina I decided I'd better do something about it. So, you have a new subscriber but BEWARE! This is a long comment. I hope you have the patience to read to the end. My introduction to Angelina was on her first appearance at Norway's Got Talent and I didn't expect much from a 7-year-old. Just a cute little girl, all nervous, rushing the song in parts, hesitating and then stumbling over or forgetting her words and generally acting her age and doing her best to get through a childish song like "Twinkle, twinkle little star". Well, it was a seven-year-old child who appeared on the stage. She was small and had wild hair and gaps in her mouth, where there once were baby teeth. My first surprise was how she confidently answered questions put to her by one of the judges. She showed no signs of nerves and when she was asked what song she was going to perform, she declared she was going to sing a song by the legendary Billie Holiday. Then she gestured off-stage for the technician to start the music and started singing. Yeah! The body of the 7-year-old child was still there, but the voice wasn't. It was that of a 40-50 year old black woman who had been singing for decades. That first moment of surprise has been experienced many times since then. I have followed her career since I saw that first video on RU-vid and in the years she has been singing publicly she has mastered many musical genres, including Blues, Country, Disco, Jazz, Pop, R&B and Soul, EDM and Rock and covered songs first performed by many famous singers, like Adele, Whitney Houston, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Lana del Ray, Avicii, Bill Withers, Gloria Gaynor, Andy Williams, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong and many others: in total over 220 different songs and 82 different performers. She takes ownership of every song she sings while still paying respect to the original. She never goes into unnecessary theatrics. Never sings those high or low notes unless they are absolutely necessary. Never projects herself in any performance which says "look how good I am". She just sings the song as she feels it is meant to be sung. She has the innate ability not only to sing a song as emotionally as the song deserves but to be able to communicate those same emotions to the listener. When you listen to her there is the feeling that you are the object of her attention. She is singing for you alone. Although the gift of singing and all her performances appear to be effortless, Angelina works very hard to ensure that the one she is going to record reflects what she sees as the correct way to meld both lyrics and melody. Great reaction. Angelina is a genius, a music prodigy. If you want to start from the beginning may be you have to check her songs in Norways Got Talent, where she won when she was 8. And then you can continue with the song I’d rather would blind when she was 13 years old and continue with Million Miles with 14. Her first original song with a Record Label.

In 2019, she won the Eurovision Junior, which is probably the largest music competition for kids in the world, certainly in Europe and Australia. The good thing about Angelina is that she is a musical genius. Its hard to pinpoint the masterpieces out of her 130+ repertoire at yt.. My personal favorites are Wicked game, Wake me up and California Dreaming because she reinterpreted these songs to give them their truly meaning. Oslo is a wonderful hommage to her home country, own composition as all of her own songs are pure authentic and personal. Where to next? Well, it sounds like you've already decided to do some of her originals, which is fine with me. I would lobby for the (much more popular) "acoustic" version of "What Is Life" (live-at-home with two other musicians) rather than the studio version or live-in-concert version (both with a large military band), and the (again, extremely popular) live-on-TV version of "Shield" rather than the studio version or the "artistic video" version (which both use the same audio). Actually, in the first case, you could do both versions (the acoustic and one of the others, which might as well be the live one) back-to-back, if you wanted, since they are very different. In the second case, they are quite similar, but I think she does it a little better live. I'll let someone else suggest the best "Oslo" to use, since I don't have strong feelings about that one. And I see people have already pointed you to her latest single, "Million Miles". Note that you have three choices for that one, too: the original lyric video (animated in a style reminiscent of her book she published when she was 9), the "live in studio" version (which is what it sounds like), and the "official music video" (which is a standard kind of "narrative" music video featuring her sister and her uncle/manager, as well as, of course, Angelina herself). The first and last use the same audio; the live-in-studio version was resung over a more spare musical arrangement. Which one you should react to is basically a toss-up, IMO.

Angelina got the golden buzzer in her initial Bohemian Rhapsody performance, meaning she automatically went to the finals. I believe she came in 8th place overall. Many suspect she did not place higher as she did not sign the traditional contract binding her to Simon's label. Regardless, competing on AGT Champions got her some tremendous exposure, and the contract she has now signed with Republic Records should be a much better fit for her. Her uncle is her manager, and her entire family is extremely protective, as well they should be. It's an industry that can eat you alive.

She already proved she can captivate and mesmerize (and silence) an audience! If she would have come up with an uptempo soul or gospel-like song she might have won the show! Please react to Haley Reinhart singing a cover of Creep with Postmodern Jukebox. Haley's performance is out of this world. In fact, the video currently has more than 91 million views and it also remained on the Billboard Jazz Digital Chart for 58 straight weeks. As Haley's voice and vocal skills are almost unbelievably good.

This performance is amazing. I don't watch these shows and recommend that you don't watch them! I believe that you'll become totally disillusioned by the politics, manipulation of content, how the participants are really treated, etc. I found out , after seeing comments in other reaction videos, that Angelina was not allowed to win this competition because of something to do with the contractual agreements all participants must sign. With that knowledge, her song choice and lyrics take on a whole new meaning. It was a brilliant song choice and the lyrics made a powerful statement to AGT.

MILLION MILES and SHIELD are as good or better than anything you will hear on the radio right now. I'M STILL HOLDING OUT FOR YOU wasn't written by her, or released by her, but she is the one that originally recorded it so I guess you could call it hers even though the composer recorded it and released it later himself. First time listening to Angelina Jordan. she sounds like a cheap knock off of Adele, who I like very much. Not impressed at all with her vocals. I guess she is just not my cup of tea. Elton does this way more perfectly.
