The GOAT in my opinion also. 'I'ld Rather Go Blind' I saw Cadillac Records and Beyoncé killed that song. How old was she in that? Angelina was 12 here got the mic for her birthday and what an investment. Here is Angelina, just sitting, sitting on the couch singing into the mic backwards, purposely or not and belting out the best rendition I have ever heard. I was instantly transported back to 1968 when I was 13. That was at the very height of Motown probably my favorite period in music. That music was magical. Angelina could have been born in '56 and she would have been one of best Motown Artists of the time in '68 and doing it at 12 yrs old. I can guarantee Angelina picked out that mic and again what a choice. And now you see her very recently doing one of her best renditions of Adele's new song which she did on Tic-Toc from what I heard was about 12 hrs after it's release. Followed by this studio version and yes she has now equalled all of the greatest artists of all time. The GOAT! And she's only 16! 16! The Music Industry isn't prepared for what is coming. Not sure I am. I feel like the luckiest man in the world to be able to watch this young phenom grow up in front of my eyes and I only hoped on this train about 2 yrs ago. Unfortunately I won't be here to see the peak of her career, God Willing, and that will be sad. Oh, what I wouldn't give to be 16 again and have a chance to see it all. She speaks to your soul, with every song. Now I have respect for all the female singers out there they are great singers. But this girl was born to be able to sing to our soul who knows what we have in store for us I pray she does Amazing things but without the help from music labels she needs to stay true with no interference from record companies and other singers because she needs to stay this path not another one. Kiki, everything that can be said about Angelina, has already been said. All that's left is how you say it. You do a fine job in doing that. When I listened to Angelina sing tonight, I realized just how much of a masterpiece all of her songs have been over the years.... regardless of age. When she sang this song, she was that woman who was declaring her love and she Was the woman who saw a relationship being destroyed because of a lack of trust (Suspicous Minds). To some degree, I mean this in a very literal way. But she does seem to be able to put those characters and voices on like a new coat. BTW, I live in the Cincy area and Joe has made football a lot of fun again. WHO DEY!
Was I right Kiki? She blew my mind when I first heard this! Then I heard "How Great Thou Art" as she sang it as an Elvis cover (at 13). Wha? She just has that effect on all of us. I swear, I can be in the worst mood or feeling down, and Angelina's voice makes it all go away, just healing and soothing. And we all love that "crack" (called vocal fry) which she is the MAESTRA of vocal fry. I challenge anyone to name or point out someone better, past or present. Maybe equal (highly unlikely) but not better. Nope.

I think you owe the growth to yourself :-) Have some fun with your friends: let them listen to only the audio and let them describe as much as they can about the artist, the type of recording and the circumstance and see how much boxes they tick off: (1) a 12-year old (even younger than in the description) (2) sitting (3) on a sofa in a living room (4) raw, one take recording (5) sing along with a track (6) with her microphone the wrong way around. Just one correct would be amazing :-) She puts so much soul into her singing, that it touches me every time. She has a lot of casual looking recordings, but she always goes for high level performances: she never sounds casual. Even during recent sound checks, not online anymore, she was singing and it was so good!

It's like a cross between Snow White and Big Mama Thornton. Your reactions and amazement of Angelina are exactly how her fans feel. I think that's the reason for the popularity of reactors to her. A person doesn't just hear her sing, it's a physical response, it touches more than your ears. It's a spiritual experience and we want to see and hear other people responding the same way we do.

"Voices" was correct Kiki, some mad scientists did some research on the topic and came to the result that she has 1.742 (or 73, there's still some dispute going on..) different voices, plus some million more if you calculate and include all possible mixes between them... Love your reactions to Miss Angelina, but I think I've already said that...
I hope you take this in the spirit I mean it, but I most appreciate American black reactions to Angelina, rather than non-American because y'all know soul better than anybody and when Y'ALL say it's good, then the approval, to me, is more legit than say, Nigerian, or Jamaican, etc. You know?
