During Angelina's Christmas concert, her band included drummer Gregg Field, an eight time Grammy winner, who played with Ray Charles, Harry James, Michael Bublé, Mel Torme, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra. I think it would only be reasonable to call him talented. During an interview portion of the show, he said, "I want to complement Angelina. This is the first time we've met or worked together, but and I'm not exaggerating this, You have a gift for storytelling. And the greatest singers that we've worked with Bublé, uh certainly Ella Fitzgerald, certainly Frank Sinatra, Luther Vandross, basically they were wired so that whatever they said, they meant and Frank famously said, 'I never let my singing get in the way of my storytelling.' Most comments don’t actually get to the point of why Quincy Jones invited Angelina to sing at his 85th birthday celebration at O2 arena in London. Q actually arranged “Fly Me to the Moon” for Frank Sinatra, and it was one of Angelina’s signature songs when she toured the world after winning Norway’s Got Talent, so to get the attention of Quincy Jones is something special, and to do the song he arranged to open his birthday celebration was a tremendous accomplishment. In another interview Angelina said that Quincy Jones was her best friend in the music industry, and I’m not sure but I believe he also had a hand in her signing with Republic Records, which is a perfect fit for her style, since Republic Records is the home of Motown and Verve, so she is right at home, with Grammy winning producers, at Republic Records.

She will be 16 soon, in January. She sure has a mature singing voice and a mature demeanor, but her education is important to her family. There's no doubt she has the intelligence to go as far as she wants to in education. But, the world needs her to sing to us, as much as she loves to perform!

I have read some of the comments; just a tid-bit missing. First, she did a Duffy cover of "Mercy" which is out on her own channel; reviewed by a few on Utube. It's the opening song for the movie "The Hating Game." Lastly, the night of her X-mas concert, it was announced she will have an album release in '22. On it will be some of her own material.

As I understand it, Angelina wrote the lyric "forgive me for all that I am" and had help with the rest. A very powerful lyric demonstrating she understands the burden her fame has placed on her family. Shield is worthy of being a Bond song. Nick, I think it would be awesome if, as part of your reaction, after listening to the song, you would type a comment and give the video a like. When she talked about closing her eyes and going to a very beautiful place when she sings. If you pay attention during some of her live performances, especially her earlier ones. Every once in a while, when she closes her eyes and when she opens them, she gets the startled look as if wondering where she's at. It's very quick and hard to notice unless paying close attention, but she never misses the beat..

When you listened to Angelina talking to the interviewers with that sweet humble voice and then she steps up to the Mic and Bam, that beautiful bluesy jazzy vocal purity comes out of her mouth it is simply astonishing. Nice reaction, Nic. "Oslo", an AJ original written before "Shield" does not get the attention it deserves, IMO. It is a well written and beautiful tribute to her hometown of Oslo and to Norway.

There ARE versions of this Skavlan interview with English subtitles for the Norwegian dialog - and Norwegian subtitles for the part when they speak English. Check them all out until you locate the right one. Please note how they can seamlessly switch to English! The wonders of being multilingual! Angelina is fluent in English and Norwegian, and Swedish is no problem because Swedes and Norwegians just speak their own language at each other and everyone is fine. Angelina can apparently also get by in Farsi (Iranian grandmother) and Japanese (Japanese grandfather). She is truly multicultural.
