Even at that age Angelina had a sense of how a song should be sung. She probably could have showed the teachers just how that song should have been done, if they had let her. Her facial expressions were priceless.
it is evident that her high understanding of music was already there, so instead of enjoying it, she seemed to suffer when she heard the others sing; LOL
I would think she knew how to listen to which tone a song goes in and then sing in that pitch, but since the other kids just sang in whatever tone that came out of them it was to much of a mess for her to find the tone of the song.

Me too! Revisited just to watch that cute facial expression especially that shrug of 5-year old Angelina. She’s super cute then & already she stood out among the other children, looking more graceful & poise. She’s born with poise and grace. Even at that young age, she just kept quiet but said it all with just her facial expression!

@@rachel-in-the-208 Well, I'm 69 years old and have heard and enjoyed this great singer (and a few others) hundreds of times. Still, I came to my conclusion regarding Angelina Jordan Astar. This young woman manages like nobody else before to captivate me from the first note. In addition, she directs my focus on the content of a song in a masterful way and takes herself back as an interpreter.
She reminds me of my daughter who did the same thing in school - she simply didnt want the camera shown on her. It was good to see all the children singing irrespective of how they sounded. This young girl knew when it was her time to be heard - i understand that she didnt want the 'attention' at that moment on her.
I actually wondered about this situation when I saw her singing at an early age. I also wondered if they tried to get her to do all the solos once the found out she’s one of the best singers in the world.
This is priceless and sooo revealing. The girl can lay down a track with seasoned veteran musicians and she's forced to sit and listen to some grandma pound out single notes on the piano. I've performed professionally since 1967 with some great musicians and I go bat shit sitting around a campfire listening to some clown break out a guitar. This is EXACTLY how I feel. She shakes her head "no" in disgust and casts a glance at the girl next to her. This is freaking priceless.
What I think is sad though, is that people try to evaluate campfire singing ad children singing for fun in class by the standards of prodigies and professional musicians. We can't all be that good at music, but we're still allowed to enjoy ourselves and express ourselves through music. I think it's two separate things, and I enjoy both, but comparing them is like evaluating apples by the standard of oranges. It's wonderful to admire and encourage talent like Angelina's... But I don't think it's kind, helpful, or productive to judge things as though anyone who isn't professional or prodigy quality should just shvt up.

Many Norwegians learn to speak English from a young age. I'm not sure whether or not it's Norway, but I agree with the person who commemted that many of the children are Asian. Perhaps it's an international school! But I don't hear any Aussie accents, so it's not Australia
@@bronwynsteck yes, I think her parents enrolled her in international schools. Her mother is half Iranian and half Japanese, so her worldview is certainly not that of being happily buried in Scandinavia. I wonder if they may have spent a month in Japan and put Angelina into an English school there.
