So glad that this style of playing is kept alive. Phenomenal skill technique, and memory, early 1900's shredding, how Django did it with a couple of fingers I'll never know, if I had 10 fingers on one hand I'd struggle to play like that.
Well said..without Django there'd be no Angelo, or Bireli, or Stochelo.. that said, the modern guys play way faster than Django ever did.. especially Angelo.. his technique is just uncanny.
Saw Monsieur Debarre some years ago in Leicester's Phoenix Theatre - spellbinding for me as a Django nut. This tune is a derivation of Montagne Ste Genevieve and none the power for that. I have tried to find recording of Django playing this - nil pointes - and I reckon there is a book , documentary and a film about the search for the lost recording - fabulous technique and great feel. Chapeau!
I saw in comments that some people wanted tabs, I just put a not finished version on Songsterr if you are interested : www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/angelo-debarre-la-manouche-tab-s447483t1 I dont know how accurate it is but even if there are some mistakes it still can be useful! ;) (I will update it in a while)
Pretty sure he just went into the second part of the song, but they cut it short to make it more of a teaser video, instead of a full 3-4 minute song :P (Sorry :P )
Hello, he played everything in one take but unfortunately he forgot the form and continued playing after the backing track was over haha so rather than redo an entire take again we just redid the ending
Petit cut à 1:25 ? J'aurais bien voir sa performance complète ! Il s'est passé quoi sur le rush initiale ? Un rire, un fail de la part d'Angelo ? Excellent comme d'habitude en tout cas
