Almost 32 years old and I'm really debating that this could be my favorite song I've ever heard. I really wish he could get the attention he deserves even on his own. Plus, how does the mainstream deprive millions from hearing his stuff?
He's not really hidden is he? He's Tom DeLonge, His music isn't big for the same reason U2 aren't big anymore, pop is in rock is unfortunatley very much out, the 2000's saw to that. But, like people have said, I like that AvA aren't as big as blink, it makes the band feel more personal.

This version gets me every time.. I might be jumping the gun here but I know Tom went through his separation with Jen who he was with for aaaages in recent years.. This song, especially the chorus is so direct as apposed to his usual lyrics which are usually heavily metaphorical. He put his absolute 100% heart and soul into this and in my head thought it was just too heavy to release as the official version. Either that or it sounds exactly like that other song people have mentioned ;) This mans been inspiring me for the best of 20 years now. I remember reading Blink lyric books as a pre-schooler and i'm now 27 years old. Really hope he's doing as good as he can be and he can take all the time he needs to release the new stuff. Just my 2 cents, not that anybody asked!

Ian Mccown nowhere near similar to 2003/4 Tom... Things just changed after 2005. I personally think he still has that voice but chooses not to sing like that.
I go back to this every now and then because compared to the official release this demo has alot more feeling to it that it puts me in the mood. I wonder why this wasn't on the album.
Wow, this is so much better than the final version. In my opinion, with a little bit of touch up THIS would have been on par with The Adventure for the best single from Angels. I still like the final version but this is just so good.
This chorus reminds me so much of "Don't waste your time on me. You're already the voice inside my head" Love both!!!! Also this lyrics it is way better than the original version!
This is straight up amazing, both demos are so good, but Tom wouldve been sued immediately because the synth and melody are taken directly from "Heartbeats" by The Knife, which is why this version was never used. Hope this clears up any questions!
At my 17 years old, this song convinced me to get a moon man tattoo. I really love AVA's songs and what beautiful memories when I had been listening this version of The Wolfpack

Shame it couldn't make the album. Pretty obvious Tom was anxious regarding it sounding incredibly like The Knife. (not a criticism by the way!!) Another album please!!
A lot of things are better about this than the official mix. A lot of emotion and darkness in this one. Plus I really like how robotic the synths sound (probably because they're not finely tuned). What a true gem.
Lyrically, melodic, and rhythmic wise, this demo is far better than the final product that made it to The Dream Walker, in my opinion. Kinda wish Tom stuck with this one all the way through.

Disappearing Boy yea defiantly...the final version course is amazing and brings chills everytime I listen to it. In my opinion people hate on the song to much. I just wish the verses (although catchy in the final version) actaully made sense. Other then that I'd take the final version anyday of the week, but these demos are great too

The melody line in the Verses is EXACTLY the same as Jose Gonzalez' Heartbeats. Not that I'm complaining, this version is much better than the album varient.
The knife - heartbeat, it's like he is not even trying to show that he didn't copy this song. Maybe he asked permission, maybe he didn't. But the original is better imo.
