After seeing Storm in many venues...and covering a million genres... I'm just thankful when she "Shows Up"...'cause whatever she does will blow me away...there's no one like her in the world.
I saw Storm play in Berkeley on Friday. She plays a mean trick by performing funny, dirty, sadistic, and casually insightful songs until you let your guard down, then she rips your heart out with this one. I've seen her four times, each time going in with high-expectations, and walking away blown away. If you live anywhere on the west coast and haven't seen her yet, you should be embarassed.
agreed. I've seen her 4 times and Friday night 9/5. at the triple door with 11 of my closest friends was epic. they all left with their mouths hanging open. I believe my social standing went up a few notches. cheers.
gg starr She's making a West Coast run in October ... I get her in Sactown 10/7 ... I've flown to Portland 3 times just to see her at Dante's and the Wonderland Ballroom ... always worth it. She's never had a bad show.
Here we go: Am I alive? Is that me breathing Or is that just you in my ear I'll admit, I feel alright even though I know I'm leaving tonight riding headlong into those headlights Be still my beating heart and take me home I will sleep on your shoulder while you drive Baby I've seen angels in gas stations And god is every damn where tonight Every damn where Oh, are these my sheets or am I reclining with you In the back seat of your car It's just like I've seen in a million movies you holding my hand, we run across the street Be still my beating heart and take me home I will sleep on your shoulder while you drive Baby I've seen angels in gas stations And god is every damn where tonight Every damn where Go to sleep Be still my beating heart and take me home I will sleep on your shoulder while you drive Baby I've seen angels in gas stations And god is every damn where tonight Be still my beating heart and take me home I will sleep on your shoulder while you drive Baby I've seen angels in gas stations And god he's every damn where... god he's every damn where I've seen angels in gas stations And god he's every damn where... And god he's every damn where Baby I've seen angels in gas stations And god is every damn where tonight She's every damn where tonight
I don't know how I missed this ... ten years ago? I first saw Storm during the Rockstar: Supernova show, which she *slayed*. Wish I'd seen this performance sooner. What a set of pipes! I've watched the other versions of this on RU-vid, but this is the best vocal of them all. An amazing singer, actor, etc., who deserves so much more recognition....
I found this like the night she released it. Having suffered through someone close to me(who I cared for and one of the strongest people I ever knew) dying and then my brother losing his husband(and a beautiful man) this hit me hard. So this is for My little woman Sharon, And My beautiful John. I know your both still hanging out with us just in a different way. Love U Oh and Storm this is one of your best. Hits your heart and soul.
Truly beautiful melody with lyrics that could be discussed over several pots of coffee. The singer is tip-top, and the band provides perfect accompaniment. One of the best songs I've heard in a l long time.
Just watched this...and then went back to listen again on my studio monitors with my eyes closed. Simply stunning both ways...if I crank this any louder I'm gonna get evicted.
Storm...I have been following you for some time now. I just want to say what an amazing impact your art has had in my life. It was from you that I discovered the true meaning of Valentines Day, which I have shared every year since. I saw you, quite by happenstance, in Santa Barbara with Pink Martini. Your an amazing soul girl...this song is just so moving. Would love to see you live again...thank you again for being here.
A neighbor invited me to see Storm Large last night in Waimea. I knew nothing about her. With so many covers, I came home to find out more about this song, having no idea it was an original. Wow! I love this song. Check Storm's website and defintely catch her show when she comes to a town close by.
I heard Storm sing this last night on "Live Wire" (OPB). I was so blown away by it that I spend an hour this morning trying to locate this song, the title of which was unknown to me. WOW!!! I was so struck by it last night, and now I'm just gob-smacked! Her voice makes love to these lyrics. I wish it were me.
Cursi, I hope you have loved ones surrounding you and you around them. I'm very sorry for your loss. It is a such a painful one. I'd like to think that maybe your my mom welcomed your mom and they are having a grand time, whereever and whatever that looks like. Peace and love to you.
@@elizabethdevries8028 thank you Elizabeth. It was a hard day as we received her Urn but cannot give her a proper service due to covid so we need to keep her at home until the cemetery allows it. I'm sorry for your loss as well. Al
@@CursiMusic I am okay now. I miss her and always will like we will all miss our moms. Your loss is fresh, so very raw. I hope you have a lot of loving support. I'm so sorry. I hope you get to have the service she and your family hope for when the cemetary does allow for it. Eli
Storm ,your amaxing music and beautiful voice have helped me so much in my recovery. I lost myself in pill addiction for a time in my life after my Mom died. hope your back in portland soon..
The more i listen, The more i seen, STORM LARGE, I am more and more addicted to her incredible voice and to her beauty. Thank you so much, Beautiful Goddess.
I really love this song, the perfect blending of mood and melody with just the right voice carrying the lyrics. Tip-top professional performance all around.
A departure from her Big (Large?) performances. Reveals a side of her that is quiet, yet powerful, and showcases her raw talent. Her songs and voice are wonderful, but the feelings she emotes are what really connects her to us. (imho) Love her.
I swear you could sing the damn telephone book and it would sound beautiful. But, your originals are what really blow me away. This is beautiful, and raw, and I have no doubt that you were every bit of an angel in Annie's life, too.
I'm a newly minted fan and I have to see her perform live. Hope she's playing Portland when I'm there in June 2015. I'll be there in a heartbeat. I'm so amazed I've never heard of her before.
Yes she should ... but it's worth noting she came in third on a nationally televised major network talent show, "Rock Star Supernova," and had Tommy Lee and Dave Navarro eating out of her hand.
Daniel Westover that is where I first saw her and was captivated by her stage presence. She came to TX in March and I took my son to see her. Unbelievable show and was able to go backstage and visit for a minute to say thanks. She was genuinely happy to see the people at the show.
I first came across Storm on the soundtrack of the film "Big Ass Spider" (yes, seriously) doing simply the best cover of Where is My Mind. When I first heard this song I was moved to tears. It's been the same every time I hear it. Every. Single. Time. This woman is an absolute star. 💖
I just left the Smith Center, here in Las Vegas, and Storm was awesome. I love this song and live it is even better. She could do the lead on any Broadway Musical and blow the audience away every night.
You, Storm Large, are a bridge between Worlds. ❤️🙏❤️ not everyone can see you for all that you are for you have touched&embraced the unseen. The Grace that it takes to show up as you do is not easy for others to behold as would be equally challenging for those same ones to behold the Love of God. Knowing what it takes to show up as you do I am blessed to be a witness ❤️🙏❤️ This was the best I could do when I felt inadequate to face the dark: But for the Grace of Love, there go I Without Grace calling me to it... I wouldn't Without Grace carrying me thru it I couldn't I'm just big enough to admit I'm this small That absent Love's Grace, I'm nothing at all. ❤️🙏❤️ Blessings on & throughout your journey Storm! ❤️🙏❤️🥰🤓 I appreciate you beyond measure! Hugs you beyond time and space! 🤗
Thank you Storm! That's a very poignant song, beautifully written and performed! Quite haunting! It lifts like angels wings! Best wishes of success and happiness wherever you are! I cherish the selfies (regular and goofy!) with you at the San Jose wintertime holiday show you did. You give a hell of a lot of joy to this tired world! Your talent and Hard Work are noticed and APPRECIATED!
Wow, just wow! I flew from Regina Saskatchewan to Portland last Sunday to Pink Martini with Storm and other guests, it was amazing as always! Bought Crazy Enough at Powell's and was tickled to find Regina was mentioned in it, as being a god awful drive from here to Calgary....which it can be!
