It might be canon, but does not carry the weight of the bible. The bible teaches you how to live and seek council with God. The book of enoch is more written as a history of angels it seems and not a guide to humans.

@@mizmera Human beings put the bible together, based on THEIR OPINION about which texts were 'worthy' of putting in there. That's why there are different sects of religion. They all share the same core stuff, but there are many different versions with more or less than other versions, because humans decided that some parts didn't belong in the final edit! And the books which have extra texts... well, yes, they're giving us more knowledge... but how do we know there weren't OTHER texts that no one included? THAT'S why the bible cannot truly be a complete and accurate account of everything God is supposedly thinking and feeling. There's so much contradiction and missing information.

@@dmf1301 In a manner I do agree with you. There are not contradictions, but there will be stuff missing. Think of history. The same story. For instance history on George Washington. Only the interesting facts will be recorded. You will know nothing else. Also not everybody wrote down what happened. So all we have is witnesses who have written down what happened. Now. If you take a look at the bible it is formed as a history book, specifically on the family line of David up to Christ. The whole book is full of lessons on how to live and learning about God Himself and his Son. Thus this is why the book of Enoch for instance was left out. It is focused more on angels and their doings. It does not show you how to live and follow God. Thus it is not part of the bible. I have read the book of Enoch, and although it was EXTREMELY interesting... it does not fit in with the bible. It has nothing that will contribute to how you must live, nor have it really information on how to follow God and Jesus. If I was in charge of taking books to form the bible... I would also not have included the book of Enoch either as it does not fit the narrative. The bible tells us of the fallen angels. The bible tells us about the nephelim. But that is it. The book of Enoch really goes in more on this matter. But again... this does not really purtain to the theme of the bible itself. Thank you for commenting. Would love if you have a reply again.

There are a multitude of ancient texts in the world for perusal. Some are on display in famous museums... except you cannot understand them unless you learn those languages (Latin, Greek, Arabic and others). Some academics dedicate their entire careers to learning the languages of that time period, perusing the texts and translating them into modern languages. That's why we have versions of the religious texts in English, Spanish, Italian, French, et al.

The watchers went beyond God's authority and sought to improve man with their knowledge without asking permission first. They weren't exactly evil, but simply broke the rules and became as corrupted as those they sought to help.

I think the dude actually believes the Bible is literal. So in his mind those “angels” actually pretended to be ancient gods. Not that the Christians purposely used those images to describe demons in order to vilify the old gods.

probably the jealousy of angels leads them to their downfall and wanted to destroy humanity. Because G_d loved the powerless humans more than the angels, that even his Son was sent to the world to introduce the real G_d to the people and sacrifice himself who is also being a G_d to save humanity from being thrown to hell because of the sin that was introduced by satan, that's why people dies loosing their immortality.

God gave us dominion over the whole world, I’m pretty sure no angel or demon could enter the world unless it involved a human but once the fall of mankind we lost that power. And the angel that was jealous of us was Satan the devil.

actual depictions of actual angels would for sure scare you to see them in real life. They aren't humans with wings. Not at all. It's unlikely the angles bread with anyone because of this as well. They lack the anatomy to get anyone pregnant.
