Excuse my ignorance, but why the helmets? Presumably rockfalls were a possibility? Really good to see you so enthusiastically braving the elements, especially in the dark. Fantastic winter conditions and you were all suitably equipped. I hope to visit this area in the summer, the disadvantage being that I expect the huts to be pretty busy, especially Angelus. The aim is to continue, possibly down to Blue Lake hut. I suspect a tent would be advisable in the summer as that part of the route is on the TA. Great video - you were truly dedicated and hope the photographer didn't suffer unduly with frozen fingers!
