Nice review. I've been looking for proper glue for ages because prices of new shoes are really getting out of hand. I'll give this one a shot.

Thanks for this video! How's the glue holding up?

Glue is holding up very well. I’ve tried two other shoe glues in the past that didn’t work as well as this.

Is there anyway its possible to not sand the thin outsole of a shoe in favor of just vigrous alcohol cleaning and then using the cement? I know with shoe goo you can just treat it almost like super glue but by using lots of it of course. Ive never used this stuff before so i have no idea if itll hold up okay or just not even really work.

Yeah the sanding is really to scuff up the surface slightly and not really to remove any big chunk of materials. Scuffing makes glue to hold better for best result but it’s not absolutely necessary. Just be sure to clean the surface clean of any loose particles and oily substances before applying the glue.

Thank you so much yo! Thats was pretty much my only real concern left (not wanting to really go at it with low grit paper. Found a few different ppl with really good suggestions tho helpin piece the project together in my head. I saw a lot of really bad results on amazon reviews for this stuff after purchasing it and started to worry. So far ive just had to assume they didnt clean properly, grit the material up nice, 'tin' their soles/surfaces with a layer of this cement so to speak and let it cure long enough to then finally come back and adhere the whole thing properly with pressure and more cure time. The instructions make it sounds so easy and man there are some seriously misleading people on here doing videos way too fast or even trying to condense it into a short of all things lol I guess now all thats left to be concerned over is using too much/little of the stuff or the execution of it all. @@DIYLifeSkills

@@sparktite I feel the instruction is misleading and that’s why frustrated some buyers on Amazon. The glue dries much quicker than instruction make you believe. I would apply the glue and then only give max 15-30 seconds before binding two pieces together quickly. Also the glue is kind of thick (much thicker than honey or syrup) so it’s bit hard to spread it evenly so prepare to put light coat and spread them quickly. Another important thing is you have to find a way to completely hold the bonding pieces tightly together. I used painter’s tape and that worked great and it also came off easily without leaving any sticky residue or damage the shoes. Lastly, unless it’s a work shoes that you don’t care, be careful not to have glue leak out as once it dries, it’s not easy to take that off cleanly on a nice shoes where esthetics matter. You may want to practice with the glue on some cardboard paper to get the feel of the glue’s thickness and drying time before you try it on your shoes. Let me know how it went.

Awesome thats super handy thank you! Yeah ive been off and on cleaning out my like old now work focused zigetech rebok shoes. Not sure how 1:1 all the materials are to my jordans but they definitely dont have any leather like material on em but luckily the jordans are basically just having the outsoles separating at the heels a bit too much (likely me taking the shoes off using my heels way too much) but luckily i dont have any heal strike like thinning disintegration happening lol. Both shoes a very old but the jordans arent in bad condition at all. The zigs are rough but one of them started to separate at the midsole quite a bit. I tugged the sole off a much as it wanted to go planning to make it my practice shoe/1st draft. I was debating turning this into a bigger project by taking the outsoles off the jordans entirely. Maybe really cleaning it out, taking some very light dremel sanding to it could even potentially polish some after its all done, But ive got yellowing soles so it would have been nice to Soak em in whatever revival compound i see people using with seran wrap and potentially sun bleaching em like that or whatever works best affordably or isnt too much work. TBH though that would mean more waiting and saving for products when really i just want a half decent pair of shoes for when i go out. Can always delay that work anyways. Im thinking if im gonna be worrying about how close i can clean and then get glue to where the outsole meets the midsole i may just try to get a good amount right in there and at the ball of the heel enough to really strengthen the adhesion/support i can probably then go around with either more cement or shoe goo and some tools or popsicle sticks to then carefully get a good seem that might be my best bet. Im gonna need to treat at least one of the shoes toe box areas like that where the outsole is just starting to separate anyways so ill have to figure that out which i could take advantage of. Im trying to recall if i have any kind of access to a heat gun though if ill maybe want/need one as i see a lot of people using those i assume to help with separation and potentially... drying? Ill have to look into that more in depth again. Oh man sorry for being so wordy like im here pouring my life story lmao. I just very much enjoy learning and tackling projects like this lol Even if it all goes up in smoke its something learned. (Tangent) Sorta like how i finally taught myself how to do fairly precise solder work on circuit boards not too long ago after having given up trying to teach myself more simple soldering jobs When i was younger and youtube tutorials werent a thing so much. Anyways for the clamping at the end of it all i have lots of varioUs tapes, tools, all kinds of stuff for different projects so im pretty sure ill be able to figure something out if i dont wind up just going for painters tape. Been needing an excuse to buy some for a keyboard project that involves no paint whatsoever if ud believe that lol. Ill try to keep you posted on how it goes! @@DIYLifeSkills
