Angie is 1 of the 🐐!!! I wanted to be from NY bc of her lol! She’s definitely the voice of NY! She’s a legend and an icon. Her rap career was dope as hell. Her interviewing skills are crazy. It doesn’t matter who it is. She has the ability to get ppl to feel comfortable and open up! It takes a special type of person to do that. And not everyone can do that. Idc who it is everyone feels comfortable enough with her to tell her whatever she wants to know. She asks the questions that the fans wanna know. Not the typical usual boring questions. Much love to Angie Martinez!! Ps-Her verse on Ladies Night is a classic. And her song with Lil Mo called if I go…..or something like that. I STILL listen to it to this day!!!

A Yo, I’m from NYC born and raised. I remember the day Pac died like it was yesterday. My mother called me to tell me that Tupac had died. She was at work and a co- worker had told her. My mom knew that I was a Pac fan so she called me to tell me. I then turned on Hot 97 to see if they was talking about it. I thought that radio wasn’t saying nothing because it was Pac. So I called Hot 97 and a man answered, I asked how come they wasn’t saying nothing about Pac dying, but the dude on the phone said that they haven’t heard anything about Pac dying. Then Wendy Williams come back from commercial break and says that someone keeps calling the radio station saying Tupac had died.(that was me calling) But it wasn’t confirmed so Wendy said that she wasn’t announcing it. Wendy shift finished and Angie came on next. They turned the music off and a gentleman came on and said that Tupac had passed away. When he said that Angie let out this loud scream and started crying. She really broke down. Hearing Angie like that I then felt really sad. Then Street Soldiers with Lisa Evers came on and people was calling the radio station to show condolences for Pac. It was a Friday when Pac died. A very bad night after that news. And if Angie reads this she will tell you that’s exactly how it went down, FACTS! That was me calling the station. FACTS! The man who answered the phone when I was calling the station, who ever that was. I think it was Mr. Cee. , Wendy, and Angie can tell you that’s how it happened. R.I.P. Tupac Shakur. FlyTy QGTM

My 58 year old father, a South Bronx native and co-founder of Seven Sons of Thunder was living in LA at the time. Seven Sons of Thunder were a group of guys who helped people solve problems who couldn't, wouldn't or were reluctant (I'll put it like that) to solve those problems themselves. Anyway, according to my mother my Dad left the problem solving business the morning his then girlfriend (not my mom) woke him up early in the morning to tell him that Big was shot and killed. My father's girlfriend received an invitation for two to attend the after-party at the Peterson Automotive Museum and asked him to go. He refused saying it was too dangerous. His girlfriend insisted she was going, that he was exaggerating the danger, which when I think on it, it made no sense since she knew he had his finger on the pulse of NY (or as my father calls it "the City") and LA as a member of the Seven Sons of Thunder. She went, but he didn't, and decided to go back to his apartment. In other words, he went home mad because he couldn't get his girlfriend to listen. Anyway, after receiving the news that Big was killed my father left LA for good three months later. Just in case you're wondering, the Seven Sons of Thunder disbanded in 2003, six years after my father left the group. All of the members are doing fairly well, so I understand. 4 of them are married with children. My father is doing well and writing his autobiography. Word has it, that a few of the members from his crew aren't thrilled with my dad writing this book. My dad said one of his guys said, "Man, don't you know there's no statute of limitations when it comes to Black people, you shouldn't be writing any book about what we did." My dad promises to leave out real names and whatnot. He also told me that he and his guys never put anybody in the morgue, but when I asked if he and his guys put anybody in the hospital he wouldn't answer. That told me everything I needed to know. Just in case, you're wondering, my dad is a well known scholar of the Black Panther Party and a college professor at the Ohio State University. I'm trying to convince him to teach a course on rap and hip. Anyway, when I ask him why he didn't warn Big and his crew personally, he says he didn't know Big and Diddy personally. Still he assures me that "everyone" knew that going to LA at that time was not the right thing to do. According to him that was no secret. Till this day he's baffled as to why they would make that trip. So that's part of my father's life story several years before I was born. Just thought you folks might find it interesting.

@@yls_freshlyGreat insight BUT you didn't have to be from L.A. or have the pulse of the city, no disrespect to know what was going to happen. Here in the East Coast we knew the beef that was going on & when Pac died trust everybody knew BIG was in trouble flying out to Cali soon after Pac's death. I was living on the East Coast at the time & when it was announced Biggie was going to be out in Cali, everybody over here said the SAME THING, OH HE IN DANGER, WHY WOULD Puffy have him out there too soon. We didn't understand it either! If u listen to Gene Deal, Puff's bodyguard at the time, he explains it they WERE WARNED BY EVERYONE but all of them being young & feeling untouchable obviously didn't take the warning seriously. Gene was the only one that took it seriously but they wouldn't listen to him. The rest is destiny.
