She was a student with hardly any money. Yet she found a way to buy tickets for us to see Angie Stone in Brighton, England, in 2002. While Angie belted away on this track, I took one look at her and knew she was a 'keeper.' Twenty-five years later, she is still my ride-or-die.

‘97 baby here. Told Alexa to play me a playlist with Dance With My Father last and woke up early this morning hearing this song. Never heard this record before and immediately had to research it. Didn’t know this was Angie Stone’s hit!! Just as important, it came out on ‘01. Music back then was so much better. All I do is listen to old songs. Will be bumping this throughout the day. I love when I find killer records from back in the day.

This is a beautiful song! This makes me smile so hard. Happy b/c when you can remember when you felt like this and how much it hurt and wishing that person could feel your pain; then you move on and God blesses you with better and you can look back and see that this was only apart of your journey, and SO necessary for your growth. Thank the person who hurt you and wish no bad karma but only positivity, it's the only way to truly move forward. I hope any ladies going through this right now know that there is a rainbow on the other side of the hurt!

Swizz was not the only person on production of this song. Ivan Matias and Andrea Martin played huge roles on producing this song. In fact their names are listed before Swizz on the record. That is usually an indiction on who had more influence on a record. Swizz is just more known.

This one is timeless. The mood, the words, the angst. "I wish I didn't miss you anymore...." Who hasn't said that to themselves or aloud? In time, the angst and the longing fade. It disappears when you find one who you love and they are there and don't change or leave.
