48 Minutes simply means 48/60 degrees. Therefore, minutes are a fraction of degrees. Just like hours are fractions of days. Hope that helps :)

+Evelyn Nabiamos means Degree Minutes and Seconds whose units derived from degrees with decimal by dividing decimal by 60 to minutes and dividing 3600 once to seconds.

basically angles on a line add up to 180. If you leave the dms bit he has told u (which is much easier) you get 39.80557109= 39.81. Then you take it away from 180= 140.19

alot of this guys numbers are wrong.. how does 140.12 +39.48 = 180? and every video I have watched has some discrepancies so I'd watch out, even his rounding out is wrong most of the time, don't understand how someone can be so delinquent when you can watch over your videos and correct them
