This is awesome but I know I'll be in tears twenty years later watching these classic collectables being totalled. I know because we used to watch Monaros, falcon coupes, 57 chevs, capris, escorts, minis etc.....in demolition derby's and thought nothing of it
I can't believe this is the first time I've come across this RU-vid channel! I would Love to see these jumps but now have to figure out how to get there from London. .
Those front heavy, front wheel drive, zero back end cars seem to be a recipe for a nose dive. The van did well, but the driver who got the car to lay flat on the second attempt seemed to find a sweet spot.
The van has a fair bit of weight at the back. And the subaru is an estate car with the 4 wheel drive running gear at the rear. They probably aimed at 50/50 weight distribution.
Subarus are insanely tough cars with roof reinforcement that's so heavy that the jaws of life won't cut the A and B pillars. You have to cut along the sunroof lines and peel it back. The rest of the car is just as tough. That Impreza was definitely in beast mode.
It's always a shame cause a few of them, like the 04 Civic, have done not many miles and have flawless MOT histories. It definitely had life left in it.
You have figure 8 racing and some skinny ramps for tipping cars over on their roofs, but it's not the same as this. It's something you should suggest to Cletus MacFarland, he's a RU-vidr who I believes owns a small oval like this one, where they already do "spectator races" where people bring clapped out cars and do a 1 lap one on one drag race.
Nope. That is an Opel Astra g with its original rims. Take a good look at the shape of the rear volume, the height of the rear lights and the wheel arches.
I mean, you kinda do have something similar. Your Demolition Derbies are similar. Except with our bangers we usually have a couple of races before the Demolition derby.
I know its way too late. But i feel sorry for T233JBH and N142RPA. Those E36's for me are too nice to scrap even if theyre MOT failures; i'd love to rebuild one.
@@christopher88719 no I don't think so. If you look closely at the back after the 2nd jump, the back wheel must have been snapped off the arch as it was moving and the driver had trouble driving off after the 2nd jump
You guys need mesh in the side window 805 looked close to becoming the drummer of a Def Leppard cover band. Also, if there's enough fuel to spill out then that's way, way too much fuel to be in a car that only needs to run for 15 seconds. Actually just put 1 gallon race approved fuel cells in the cars and remove the old tank. You transfer the fuel cell to the next victim car when you kill the car it's in so it's not that expensive to make this safer. 😄
@@1973miniclubman yes, it's a shame 😥 when i read about Angmering raceway closing i said "oh no!", 5 or 6 times.. I watched a lot of banger videos but Angmering is the one that has a friendlier attitude. And the one that made me wear out my rewind button when i was like "wow, wait, what happened??". Like someone wrote, good family fun! And things like car jumping, drifters, completely stock cars riding around, and such a nice little circuit... Like you say, it's a shame😓
