It’s really up to anyone’s interpretation, but what I was thinking was that this is inside Minos. I just used the regular battle background for this because I had it on hand, but if I had a spriter to make it, it would be where you first fight Gabriel.

You're acting like Gabriel is the boss. Gabriel is the one saying "Lets-a-go." That means you probably play as Gabriel during this fight. The bros would likely attack similarly to that one boss that was about how Bowser remembered the Bros, although buffed due to Mario and Luigi being more than just memories. However, the fight would still be significantly different since you have a different playable character.

@@MarioisAlive1 There are many things that may or may not be in the favor of the point that Gabriel is the playable character either of the brothers are. I decided to see him as the boss, since he is a boss in ULTRAKILL. We don't have any context for him to be the main character, unlike Bowser who needs to team up with the brother. We're also in the belly of Bowser, reference for the fact that we are exploring the inside of the Corpse of Minos and reach his heart in ULTRAKILL. There are other things, like the music that was made for Gabriel and not brothers... But that's what my instinct tells me, you do you

We will need new counter patterns for gabriel though, like the fact that he can throw his sword, or decides in which state he wants to be (in the air or on the ground), and also the fact that he can attack stupidly fact with both of his swords, still in the counter phase. They both have the same attacks, but perform them extremely different which often leads to infighting and that somehow damages the enemies

​​@@Devinrekrafted I feel like V1's whole shtick would be overwhelming attack patterns, like, not hitting too hard or anything but what you have to do to dodge is complex and easy to fuck up and get hit like 10 times in a row. shoots a core eject at Luigi, Luigi hits it back, V1 parries it back even faster at Mario and it's too beaten up to be hit a third time without detonating, so Mario jumps over that, and as he was doing that V1 had prepared a sawblade trap and destroys it, both the bros have to jump it and the moment they land V1 is already going for a split coin they both have to simultaneously counter, and V1 just dashes to dodge that, THEN the turn ends. I picture it with lots of overlap between the things forcing you to juggle your attention around, with a pool of different attacks to overlap that V1 will cycle through like 3-5 of per turn. I figure to deal a successful hit you'd also have to exhaust the dash stamina and pay attention to which arm is selected so as to not immediately get parried it would be hell. figuratively. Ultrakill's hell would probably be easier for the bros than V1

@@uncroppedsoop To be fair, the fight if we're going by those rules is fair at that point. Bowser's Inside Story has a very execution heavy attack called Magic Window. This move can be performed infinitely and does alot of damage, meaning if you're a dirty cheater and use slow mo or are just that good you can wipe bosses on the first turn. The most powerful attack asides from that is Falling Star, which does an absolute ton of damage and lowers defense, but V1 would probably die to the initial volley so that doesn't matter. If we're going by a really good bros player vs a super skilled V1 here, then basically each of their turns will be a nightmare for the other to deal with with reflect spam and extremely high damage if either party ever gets hit. Plus if we're going the extra mile and making V1 have even more counter type abilities, then all your projectiles and your super move buildups will be a hell of alot harder since I imagine V1 would do things like shoot your snack basket food so that it doesn't reach luigi, fire the sharpshooter during the fire flower, causing a massive explosion that envelops the whole screen, and hide himself inside of a nail bomb so jumping on them causes you to explode and V1 to gain back all their HP.

I might try making some pokemon-like music at some point. It’s kinda funny, I’ve been told by multiple people that my music sounds like pokemon music a lot of the time and I’ve never finished a pokemon game. I love the music I’ve heard from the series though.

I’m glad you liked it! As for making more themes like this, I’m not entirely sure. I’ve definitely thought about it, but they’d be a lot harder to integrate into this style. I might do Minos’s theme at some point though. Maybe in the style of the dark bowser or dreamy bowser fight.
