Not sure if any of you have had this problem before but I’m glad to have peace and quiet again!

You are correct in that the bird is attacking his reflection. Male birds especially will do this during mating season... They think another male bird is in their territory...

No! I have ONE source of light in my tiny condo and I am NOT covering the window to prevent this. These robins are shitting all over my balcony, constantly attaching the sliding door, and I have indoor plants that depend on the light. Time to load my BB gun.

The bird is a robin. Their beaks are not hard enough to damage glass. The marks on the glass were from the oil and dust on feathers and are easily removable. Robins are very territorial, especially near a food source, eg the neighbour's bird feeder.

Bird sees reflection. They are territorial. Going after "other" bird. Have to put something on the outside of glass. They are not angry. Usually more during spring mating season.

I work night shift so I tinted my bedroom window on the inside glass panel to sleep during daytime.....That is when a bird started repeatingly striking the window, by tinting the inside of the glass it made even more reflective, and on top of that I could not see out when the bird was striking it so I thought it was a nearby shrub's limbs making the noise . It was frustrating to trim the limbs then go in to sleep only for the noise to start again. I eventually observed the bird in action from outside and put an X in duct tape on the window to stop the bird.

I have doves that bang on my window to tell me their food dish is empty. I fill it up and they don't bother until it's empty. The feeder next door probably needs to be filled up.

@@Youneverknow222 It's definately true. It is a white winged dove. The rest of my family has seen it too. I have picture of that dove trying to figure out how to use my feeders for smaller birds. He sits on a chair and stares in my window.

I started feeding a few seagulls over the summer (on my balcony) , and the next thing, i have a ton of them banging like ninjas on my window, it tried ignoring them, but they come back back time and time again, They are really loud, and i have started to worry about neighbours reporting me. I don't want to be cruel and shout them away. But i really need to just kindly tell them to bugger off.

my blues started doing this for the first time in 10 years of having nest boxes out. I used patterned gift wrap paper to break up their reflection and instantly stopped this. A screen on the entire window can be used permanently as long as it breaks up their reflection. Bluebirds will do this from late winter to fall, more or less depending if they have 2 or 3 clutches.

Thank you for that video! I already had black contact paper in my Amazon cart, but your product looks better. At my wit’s end after trying ‘scare’ techniques like giant bird eyes and foil, I’ll try this one to deal with a territorial male robin who keeps attacking my polished brass kickplate! For 30 years, never a problem until now. Dang bird leaves mountains of disgusting poop on the threshold and doormat. There are so many beak smears on the plate, I don’t think it’s even reflective anymore. Still, he pecks. Then, because I have to hose and scrub it all off, the wood swells and the door can’t be opened!!! UPDATE: Re-scrubbed and rinsed doorway, deployed static cling black plastic you recommended, plus purchased a menacing golden-eyed plastic owl with rotating head, filled with sand to weight the bottom, and set it next to the doorway. A few problems -my kickplate has screws along the edges, and the black plastic won’t stick except in the center of the band. Too, I’m thinking it won’t stay stuck if I actually use the kickplate. I’m hoping it will be good enough. If not, I’ll just try contact paper after all.

I found a paper bag of side mirrors using a elastic band to hold it , the bird don’t like it they feel uneasy to the feet , I spent a lot of money on all kinds of this like snakes foil this and other things. This works all free

Unfortunately this won't work for me because one Summer Tanager is attacking every single window all day long. I have drawn the blinds, but he still does it. This is a first in all the years I've lived here. This is year 2 of it happening. He's doing it right now and it's driving me crazy.

I had an early morning bird fight for days. It was noisy and annoying, I wanted it to stop. I searched RU-vid, owl sounds to scare birds away. I want to you, these birds have gone away and there are no birds around my house. I like the nice sounds of birds, but they are gone.
