Hey pal!!!!! Keep going mate, I've been an addict for 21 years Nearly lost my life many times. Focus twelve wouldn't take me because of the un safe does of prescription meds I'm on. (Was in a coma 5 years ago from a car accident) They tried their best!! I've come from poverty and survived to live ok I've been to the poorest meth clinics to Harley street I now realise I can't throw or beg anyone else to fix me! I've tried everything to be happy from shotting to working to family life (my daughters 13) My point is i seeked out TM because of you and I couldn't be happier and I'm fighting the meds I'm so close! It seems some people are so attached to their prepackaged political views that they can only relate to you as a cartoon of who you really are. They should see that you are doing all this political work when you could have just been a world famous comedian and put it in your stand up or movies and deal with the fall out as art. But you have chosen to personally stand up for your political beliefs which are against the powerful and wealthy interests who often us extortion and murder to get their way if they have to. (Notice how many of these insults are from a fake name?) So they could see that you are a great hero of an emerging new world that will save the future by dismantling the toxic power structures that now threaten the future of humanity. Please keep your great sense of humor and pragmatic realism as the tiny insects try to bite on you. I think your hair and beard are cool and that you are a very handsome man. Well maybe more cute than handsome...but hopefully you will mature nicely as you get older. (Just kidding mate)....carry on! We are with you all the way!

Why do people have to be so hateful when commenting? There's nothing wrong with disagreeing, but those upset by Mr Brand's view points should argue their point in a constructive manner. Being vile and spitting abuse at a person for no other reason than you disagree with them is frankly childish and makes one's argument look weak.

A lot of people who write the angry comments have evidently not been watching you properly because they seem to accuse you of condoning the exact opposite of what you preach. I also find it amusing that (particularly some of the Americans who write them) think that being socialist and leftist is an insult. No. I am socialist and proud, and I really don't understand why that's even an insult.

But the new atrocity is the capture of Dr. José Manuel Mireles, leader of the civil militias in Michoacán, by orders of Alfredo Castillo the so-called Virrey (viceroy, he was never elected but assignated by the president to control Michoacán when the governor of the state fled to the exterior) and the federal goverment. Dr. Mireles is one of the few decent figures we have in this country, and they said they found him with an arsenal, lots of drugs and money. Alfredo Castillo is known to plant evidence and was the same bastard that participated in the very infamous case of the child Paulette, whose murder he encovered. It's is of great importance that people learn what is happening in México, the moment the public media diverts their eyes from the capture of Dr. Mireles he is going to “dissapear” like it is used in our country. That is why I ask your help and the help of all the web users to make this situation known and in that way take away the media mask that our goverment loves to use to hide their crimes in foreing soil. I've always liked Russell Brand since I saw his stage show years ago where he read out of that disgusting comic The Sun. Russell, I cannot even begin to describe how much I appreciate The Trews. Currently I'm in school to become a journalist, but as I have recently learned it is a pretty fucked up industry. You see it mainly with FOX (obviously) but even in Canada all the major broadcasters are owned by huge telecommunication companies (with the exception of CBC, but they have been forced into massive layoffs,) I hate the idea of living in a world where corporations are able to control how/when/where people learn about the world around them, but at the moment I don't see many other options.

Hi Russell you regularly speak about a revolution due to people being dissolution with the current corporate paradigm. However in Europe recently the groups who have capitalised on this disengagement have largely been far right hate groups due to a population that has been misinformed by mainstream media for so long. I like Russel. He's championing the good that everyone has the potential of giving. And I love the video of him being interviewed by US news channel where he clearly dominated and ridiculed a quite rude and offensive atmosphere and actually cheered everyone up. and the work he does in the community is outstanding. Clearly teaching young people not to be influenced by the negative media and to live their lives selflessly and constructively. Need more positive people like this in the world.

I'm an American. I don't know whether to laugh at or mourn the ignorance of my compatriots. I know this channel intends to create a cognizant aperture that is fulfilled through further revelation; still the only thing I learn from these angry comments is that I may be ringed by idiocy. Dear Russell, I share most of your views. And I am so glad that your thoughts are so cosmopolitan. I specifically loved what you said about nation states in one of the episodes of trews- that they are not real and that they are imagined entities upheld and preserved for and by corporate interests. Collectivities like nations, community and culture, define our identities today. I hate that. Individuals are ontologically prior to all forms of collectivities. Underneath culture, are individual intentions, ideas, thoughts and consciousness. Culture is merely the vehicle, the carrier of individual intentions and feelings. Individuals 'animate' culture and not the other way around. Therefore, individuals are prior to culture and therefore, our identities must not defined by collectivities like nations or community or culture. Our identity must one - human, that is all....please speak more about this subject
