I think the question itself is a fundamental misunderstanding of God’s nature. While he theoretically could, it would serve no practical purpose. Not to mention, by virtue of the nature of his existence anyone could theoretically lift anything, a molecule at a time. We are talking about the being that set in place the very fabric of reality. His perspective would be entirely different then our own. It would be like asking if Guy Fieri could make a meal that even he couldn’t eat. He could but why would he? What purpose? Just to show you he can? He doesn’t have to impress you. He has more important things to be doing. So I genuinely find that question to be a sign of someone who lacks perspective and/or empathy. They lack the ability to imagine things from the perspective of others and so they ask, not for an actual answer, but because the answer itself doesn’t matter to them. A question that tells more about the person asking than the thing being asked.

That's logically incorrect and you don't need to jump through hoops in logic and come up with a paradoxical argument to disprove that premise. Omnipotence is not defined as "being able to do anything," if it were then God could will himself to cease existing, which is nonsensical. Omnipotence is defined as "perfectly possessing the quality of power," and in simple terms this means an omnipotent being is capable of succeeding at whatever it attempts to do provided it is within its nature to do so. So God can create things ex nihilo (out of nothing), or obliterate his creation without any effort, or even bring about certain events with a level of complexity and forethought that's unimaginable to us. God *cannot* cause himself to cease existing, commit sin (sin defined as "that which is not of God"), or cease being "God." Allot of short sighted philosophers think they can disprove God with this argument but it just shows a lack of understanding regarding logic and the concept of omnipotence. God can't do "anything" but when God does something within his nature he will always succeed. The premise essentially asks "can God make a thing that causes him to stop being God?" and the answer to that is no, but that neither disprove his omnipotence nor does it disprove the existence of God or some omnipotent intelligence. If a teacher thinks that premise is a satisfactory philosophical argument against the omnipotence of God then I would ask for a refund lol

Zach Mercer I agree with this in its entirety and would say scripture backs it up. I think what baffles them as imperfect humans is the idea that one could have all the power to accomplish literally anything but having a nature that sets reasonable boundaries. When a man is given unlimited power it is culturally understood that he will abuse it in any manner he sees fit. What they forget is that he will abuse that power in line within his nature.

It’s a big gamble cause it gets rid of most of the map and it’ll make it easier for them to get knocked off and they might do friendly fire on their worms

@@mysticboar1237 But I mean, getting rid of the map is kinda the name of the game. It deals with more than the Concrete Donkey, at the cost of not being as precise. But it IS easy enough to fanagle it into a spot where it won't hit your own worms, especially if you use the smaller one. Besides, I think the cool factor of the Strike is way higher than the donkey, though I'm not sure if I thing the satellite or Armageddon is cooler.

I think your dumb, the whole point is if he can make something he can’t do then he isn’t all powerful but if he can’t make something he can’t do he’s not all powerful

@@garygordle5146 What he's saying is it's simply a lack of understanding as to what "all-powerful" means and how illogical the premise is. All-powerful doesn't mean "you can do anything," at least not in the way people usually think it does. For example people usually think omnipotence means you can make a square circle, which is entirely illogical as a circle by it's definition of being a circle cannot be square. Omnipotence does not mean you can do nonsensical things such as that, it means "you will always succeed at doing that which is within your nature." So the answer to the argument is no because the premise is essentially asking "can God (who is omnipotent) make something that causes him to cease being God," which is an idea as nonsensical as a square circle. This argument is used so often and so many people buy it purely because God's quality of omnipotence is incorrectly defined in it and most people don't understand how logic works in philosophy, let alone metaphysics.

@@sanadrin8359 yes, heavy is what I meant. The explanation to the supposed paradox I mentioned would counter act the supposed paradox that you mentioned. "Omnipotence" is fundamentally unbeatable. It's a lesson in English and people don't realise it because they're simpletons. Nothing is above an omnipotent being, no matter what said omnipotent being creates it can never be too "heavy". Imagine 99% of people don't actually know what omnipotent means, it's perplexing and it irks me.
