@@eamonhenning745 can't say for where they are, but I know where I live, anywhere a boat can get into is a "public waterway" The land around it can be private which would make it inaccessible, but the water is still A-okay. Assuming you're in the clear getting there.

Nitrodasnipa Z unless it’s a gated community, I live on a private lake in Oregon and it’s gated. But no one person owns the lake, all residents equally own the lake and have access to it. As long as he was invited by a homeowner in the community he’s fine fishing there. Some HoA’s have weird rules tho

@@s4fedriver That's true. A lot of the time there's weird laws regarding access to water too, Like being able to portage over private property in specific cases. I do a lot of kayak fishing so I've looked into laws for my state. There's some seriously interesting laws on the subject. Most of the time people are chill as long as you're not causing any trouble.

Nitrodasnipa Z yeah 100%. I just moved into our new house so I haven’t done much research, but a lot of homeowners use the water for kayaks, paddle boards and fishing/swimming. It looks like he already took care of the “no internal combustion motor” rule on the boat. So there’s a good chance he was invited by a homeowner to fish that lake and was informed of the basic rules. At least at our lake, one of the big rules is that you have to be accompanied by a homeowner at all times while using the lake. That lady probably would’ve shut her mouth about it had they had the homeowner with them, but again I’m not sure what the rules are with where he’s at.

I used some old white peoples land bridge yesterday when I went out to fish on two diffrent lakes and even crossed their property less than 5 meter away from their house. I think In California, it's public. we had an issue with people on malibu, because the beach is public but owners near the beach chase people away. as for swans, unless she raised them, the federal government would be concern she's feeding wild life like that.

I mean if I’m out on my dock I get pretty annoyed when people come right up to my dock fishing. I get it that I don’t own the water, but it’s just common courtesy. However, if no ones out on the dock I wouldn’t care if people are right up next to it fishing.
