@@jimfletcher4520 .. are his objections all valid? I would say in your opinion but should it not be a yes or no question? I can see how they SOME are attempts of getting him to answer the previous unanswered question though....
@@jnscrews You can look this guy up - he lost this court case. The plaintiffs (TestMasters) won a decision against the defendent (Blueprint) and its witnesses. It was only 1% of sought damages, but still amounted to a loss, upheld in appeal. Kouri's actions might look and SOUND "cool" but this was as far from legal "ethics" as anything can get, and likely were top-of-mind during the Judicial review, and confirmation of the jury verdict. Judges don't think "wow, this guy reminds me of Richard Gere in Primal Fear". They see this stuff and think "this guy is an asshole".
@Robert B I don't know Spence, but your narrative was 100% spot on. Like I said, people are used to TV lawyers - they think "yeah, that guy has balls", but they don't realize that other lawyers, judges, etc., have OPINIONS about these types of lawyers, based on their interactions with them. Clearly, the other lawyers in this room were not impressed with his "stick your threats" style. And, as you said, he lost the case.... so "balls" be damned. The best lawyer I ever employed has been dead for almost 15 years, and he was old when I first hired him. He was quiet, respectful, confident, clear and knew EXACTLY what he was talking about - every single time. I was never a defendant - but he sure beat a lot of defendants on my behalf.
It is amazing to me how often people say "I want a lawyer like that, who fights!" They don't seem to realize that lawyers like that usually lose, and sometimes even get sanctioned (as happened in this case).
It is amazing to me how often people repeat wrong information and act like they are the smart one. Instead of just repeating the bad information maybe you should try checking if the information is correct. I hope you dont vote. I can only imagine what else you believe is true that had been proven to be a lie or wrong.
@@lelandunruh7896 Improve your reading comprehension and then go back to re read my comment. Maybe you will be able to understand. You should also realize you are not a young kid so when you use"wut" instead of what you just look dumb.
@William Schnee there is no problem with half of the question he asked though. you should be able to ask if someone was invoked with something or if you were trying to get someone involved with something. it basic question. who care of the bullshit rules
@Diane Berg you missed the point, I didn't say this is the guy you want when you are in trial. The cops don't play fair, so this is why you want him when you face the questions of your law enforcement.
Kahgro-Now looky here ossifer. The defendorent was not under the affluence of inkohol tho many tinkle peep he am. Therefore, under the sanctions of the grandiose cauliflower, chapter 3, part 7, paragraph 12 section heynannynanny I do hereby declare my client ambidextrous and request he be assigned to doody duty immediately upon reversal of this verdict and...someone stole my ink pen!
@@omarblanco6375 Kouri is still dead. 12 years after his death, like 30+ random yt accounts have claimed falsely that he got sanctioned even though that is NOT what the records show. Nobody mentions that this video does not start at the beginning either! Why has nobody but me even mentioned that? LOL
Well, he was right, because he was right at the beginning of the altercation. 'What did you say to him?' to someone who just said he didn't speak to him is a bullshit question.
BesACB It’s a deposition and he’s trying to impeach the witness-his job. This guy wasn’t “right,” he was an unprofessional bully, who made a fool of himself for our amusement.

having given a depo before, the asking attorney was SOO professional...I would have lost my sh$t. That other attorney was such a rotten bully, I wanted to reach through my screen and punch him in the face.
Breathtaking arrogance by a attorney who couldn't back up his shit talk with results. To those of you who are impressed with his bad behavior, it should be noted that he lost this case and was sanctioned for his conduct.
It's hilarious that people would be like "I want that guy" when he was literally saying I don't care about local rules and stuff... Like uh... No. I don't want that guy as my lawyer. His initial objection to the questioning seems reasonable, then he just goes on this insane tirade.
Kris White Until they lose, then they hate their lawyer too. It’s all a big game, created by the attorneys, who become judges and the lawyers are the only ones who win in the end.
"Your name is Mr. Tatey, correct?" "Objection." "Calls for speculation." "It's argumentative." "Invades attorney-client privilege" "Instruct the witness not to answer the question."
Apparently these supposedly smart lawyers need to re examine the purpose of having a deposition to begin with. Calling an objection to almost every question asked of the witness with the reasoning being that the question is argumentative or disruptive of the attorney client privilege is sophomoric and destructive to do process and investigative work which vitally important to get to the truth.
@@LaPlasita47 Exactly! Illogical question considering last answer. The plaintiff attorney did that a bunch! The plaintiff attorney was also asking NOT ALLOWED questions by rewording them 8 different ways. Judges HATE that. With no Judge in depo, Koury's gripes were spot on.
He’s not his lawyer. This is a deposition and he was a witness who has no stake in the outcome of the case. I think there are a lot of laypeople in this comment section that don’t understand the dynamics of what took place in this video. The guy ultimately got sanctions for obstructing because he wouldn’t let the witness answer simple and fair questions. And he ultimately lost the case to the cool calm and collected lawyer. And he didn’t have balls. He was acting like a baby and being entirely unprofessional. That conduct would have never been permitted in a court room with a judge. In fact, with the way he was blatantly obstructing in this video, I’m surprised after they sanctioned him that he still even has a law license.
I had to be in a deposition once because I was a witness to a hit and run of a co-worker. The driver's lawyer tried to "tough guy" me and I literally bursted out laughing! It was so obvious his client was guilty, but he was fishing for me and the other witnesses to say she jump out in front of his client and faked her injuries. In the end, our co-worker had her medical bills paid for and got a good settlement.
*Officer:* Do you know why I stopped you? *Lawyer:* Objection. Calls for speculation. No foundation. Argumentative. Tampering with evidence. Grounds for mistrial. Instructed not to answer.
@@robertmarks2379he lost the case and he was sanctioned. All that's going to happen is that a judge is going to later rule his objections invalid and they'll redo the deposition with him being forced to answer the questions. This guy is a horrible lawyer.

Argumentative stuff is for trial, not depo. Plaintiff attorney wanted to ask certain questions not allowed, but kept rewording the same NOT ALLOWED question 8 different ways. A Judge would have pulled him up for a sidebar or just stared at attorney and said "move along!"
What kinds of cases have you hired lawyers for or litigated? Most attorneys avoid LITIGATION in favor of schmoozing. Let's all play "patty cake" with YOUR LIFE in their hands? How did you manage to miss the plaintiff attorney's BOTCHED questions?
