@@THETATTOOGARDENER83 If the height is reasonable and not all the clippings is chucked on my veggies, cut it! My neighbour used to toss everything on my onions which didn't do them good and one day, he suggested a big cut down to a metre. It very much depends on who owns the hedge. 1) If it’s the hedge belonging to your client, the neighbour cannot refuse access to tend the other side of the hedge (yes you must make good any damage), usually up to 1 metre is accepted. 2) If it’s the neighbour’s hedge, you can only cut any overhanging branches (over the property line) and you cannot cause distress to the hedge (cause it to die off). You cannot reduce the height (cut the top). You must however offer any cuttings to your neighbour (other wise it is theft of their property) but you cannot insist they take them (they’ve given you permission to keep them).
@THETATTOOGARDENER83
@THETATTOOGARDENER83 22 дня назад
@@nas816 thankfully the issue has now been resolved and it’s been agreed moving forward I’ll cut it set time of the year and clear up anything that falls the neighbours side which is what I offered them anyway but yes all good now The hedge sits right on the border line so technically they both have a say

Even better than the mower as mulcher is leaving the stuff where it falls 😂 ! I mean on a serious note I have done that with a lot of hedge waste and come back to it later on as a project 😂 once it starts to decompose. Obviously it depends on factors.. the general area where you are, the customer, also if it’s grass underneath and it’s pristine lawn of course it’s gonna kill off the grass underneath but if it’s scrubby or whatever, like I’ve always said, every garden entirely different behaves entirely differently that’s why an hourly rate same for everyone doesn’t work.

If we wait until 2 to start digging we will be behind by half a day, whether its these trees or not something is being planted here so tell your husband that. 1st question is who owns the hedge? In the first part where you started cutting there was a section of wire fencing and it looked as though the roots of the hedge were on the neighbours side. We had this problem and when we consulted a solicitor he said if the roots are on your side the hedge is yours, so all the neighbour could do was keep it level on his side to the boundary,but could not cut the top as the hedge was not his !!
@THETATTOOGARDENER83

Hi mate thanks for watching literally you can use any old mower to mulch my old Honda Izzy worked a real treat for this too Honestly massive jobs that want everything it’s sometimes easier to go down the hourly rate unless you can agree a set price for lawns and hedges then just do weeding as hourly I’d personally go down that route if I was you If I had my time again that’s what I’d do I visit the bigger clients weekly as they need it to keep them under control Hope this helps bro have a great weekend 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Personally, I don’t get why anyone would want to have their large hedges cut in bird nesting season? There’s no way you can survey for nesting birds adequately. This is why it is illegal for Farmers to cut hedges in nesting season, this should in my opinion apply to commercial gardeners as well. I do all my hedges from the end of September through to February. I only work with clients who understand the importance of the nesting season. Good job on the hedge though.
