Okay. This dude at the Safeway. I just can't even. It's so infuriating when black people have to make EVERYTHING about race. They always are the first to bring it up. The security guard was perfectly calm and polite about. Explained why he was doing it several times and was very justifiable. The man came into the store 4 times wearing a backpack, never bought anything. I say that's a perfectly justifiable reason to question him and search him. If he didn't do anything wrong or steal, then why not just show him and be on your way? Incident over. You're vindicated. Instead he has to resist and argue. It's what they all do. And then wonder why they end up getting shot. Instead of just doing what's being asked and staying calm, they have to escalate and make it about race.

I work at dominos and they had a full screen of orders. We've had to cancel them when people come in like that because they're causing a scene. She ordered online, it said 10-15 mins and when it wasnt ready she wanted a refund. Thats 99% of the time of what happens. So they cancelled it, she probably demanded something on top of it too like free food for waiting so long. It still would've been like another 15 minutes even if they made her order before everyone elses. She handled it well though and has every right to deny service to someone who treats people that way. Shes definitely the manager there 😂😂

respectful maybe, within his legal rights no. Read up if ya don't understanding, he doesn't have the right to detain anyone without personally seeing the supposed theft occur (which he admittedly said he didn't see) let alone stop and hold him without any actionable cause. I agree the whole "i'm black" thing was repeated a bit much that guy was right, they had no legal right to stop him at all without probable cause and he could sue them for detaining him unlawfully. It's happened all over the country with security companies and guys like that not properly understanding the law and what they are within their rights to do.

As lame as it is, that guy does have the right not to serve that lady. Don't agree with it at all but it is his right. Kind of a shame with the double standard though, like if a Christian cake company refuses to make cakes for gay weddings, they can get sued for everything they own but if this lady was to sue the bar/restaurant owner she'd most likely lose.

It's illegal to discriminate based on race, religion or sexuality. Not political affiliation. The cake maker could say he refuses to serve Biden supporters. A restaurant can't say "I refuse to serve straight people".

Instead of constantly drawing things out, he could just open his bag and show that he stole nothing rather than waste all his time dealing withe the security while waiting for the police to come. The whole problem he had is because he thinks he was called out for being black. The security is a minority too, but he pulls the race card. He had nothing to hide so he really didn't have to make the whole thing a bigger issue than it needed to be.

Nikki Caz To be honest it’s the realization that our country is not perfect and the mentality of being “the best country in the fucking world” tends to make us think nothing is wrong with us. Healthcare is ridiculous and unattainable for many being what we are...a 1st world country. That’s one example, I think you can love your country...but many Americans think that loving your country means it does not have flaws, part of loving it means recognizing those flaws and strive to improve them. Also yes I am American.

Sounds like the black guy did this on purpose if he kept coming in the store and walking out 3-4 times buying nothing. Look suspicious then have them follow you, record the whole thing and then when they see your bag is empty and go away, turn the video on yourself and say oppression and racial profiling is still a big problem in our country.

@Kate West People do not get arrested when they are already proven to have committed a crime. They are arrested when they are accused/suspected of committing a crime. The security guard suspected him of a crime & has to investigate. Therefore he, the security guard was 100% correct to stop him.

That doesn't make the police who arrested them, or the district attorney who prosecuted wrong for trying. The guy went in the store 4 times that day without purchasing anything. Why? Who's to say he did not get that far yet? Again, the security guard was doing his job.
