"Glory left my hammer" was a well deserved F-Bomb to Gloryhammer and the fact that they fired Angus by email.

Not only was Angus in Nanowar of Steel's song he was also in Fuerschwanz 's Warriors of the World United cover, credited as Angus McFife. Great reaction!

To break the whole Gloryhammer debacle down as short as possible: Thomas Winkler (Angus McSix, then in the role of Angus McFife as the lead singer of Gloryhammer) was fired pretty suddenly. Around the same time, a group chat of Gloryhammer was leaked with extremely heinous racist and misogynistic messages. Thomas was not in the screenshots, rumour has it that he leaked it but there's no solid proof. Problem is that now there's a partly real, partly imagined division between people who took Thomas' side and people who took the side of Gloryhammer (generally in the form of Chris Bowes, everyone else gets kind of ignored for the most part. Though the "hootsman" of Gloryhammer had allegations of abusing his girlfriend circulating against him around the same time). So now it's a hot mess. And personally, I am done with Gloryhammer and Chris Bowes generally. Unless they actually take accountability and believably apologize for the shit they said, which I highly doubt will happen. I'd advise any female metal fan to exercise caution at Alestorm or Gloryhammer events and to not be alone with the band members. People who speak like that about women and people of colour (and especially women of colour) can't be trusted to behave politely. After the firing, Winkler decided to go solo as Angus McFife, which Bowes had an issue with since he had created the character. I imagine Napalm Records had to work overtime to reach the compromise of Angus McSix and to deal with all of that drama. Anyway, that's the Gloryhammer disaster as short as I can put it.

The whole album is gloriously cheesy and fun.

I'm a simple man. Give me power metal with mozarella, cheddar, red leicester, edam, monterey jack, swiss, and the other 1,800~ types of cheese, and I'll be a happy camper.

The power level between Angus Mcsix and the new angus mcfife is pretty big, are the Hootsman and Zargothrax the only ones in gloryhammer who can really match up with the absurdity of angus mcsix's crew's power?
