What a beautiful and magnificent human that has maintained her creativity and imagination, and has cultivated it into a master art of character design, animal anatomy, story-telling, and illustration. She is one of the reasons I followed through with my art. As a little girl I would walk down the street to the library with my mom and incessantly check-out 'The Katurran Odyssey' quite literally on the date it was due back. A couple years later and i woke up one Christmas morning to a beautiful hard bound copy of the Katurran Odyssey itself, for me to have for my own. Fourteen years later and that book is sticky-noted, well-loved, and crinkled on it's jacket. I still reference it. Whitlach is a pioneer in hybrid creature design and accurate creature design, and i like to think that this master artist influenced me most.
I don't think George Lucas himself understood that the real public for Star wars is manchild grown dudes. Because of that the more creepy designs from Terry didnt make it into the movies .
