Her insight into how animals see things, spatially etc, is amazing. I have noticed how the very things she describes about livestock applies almost equally well to household pets.
She nailed it about needing to pay the livestock workers a good wage. It's pitiful how much some get paid and then the turnover is horrible and you end up training constantly. I will add we have to get more young people into agricultural period. We need to make it possible to buy your own farm or ranch instead of it being a nearly impossible goal to reach without family help. If not then we starve. Movie stars make mega bucks but the farmer just got reposed ☠️👿.
I love her commentary about the way that the industry needs to pay a living wage so that people can afford to pay their bills and take a job caring for animals.

She is a professor at a major college in Colorado. Sorry don't recall it at the moment. There was a movie made several years ago about her. It's on a CD from Netflix. Worth watching.
Her comments about passion without critical thinking are spot on. You need to really analyze a problem to come up with a solution that actually works. Sound bites, don't work, lawsuits alone don't work, even educational programs alone done work. The solutions to societal problems are often complex and multi-faceted. It is too easy to get the societal press to back an over simplistic answer to a complex problem. A case in point is the failure of the "DARE" program.
One reason I mention this is because many times a lawsuit will occur and the simplistic solution they come up with is "we need more education" when perhaps there are significant environmental changes that need to be made. Additionally, the "educational solutions" that are developed are inadequate and become no more than a "quick fix" so that someone can tick off a checklist. For example, 6 weeks' worth of needed instruction is crammed into 2 or 3 days so that the boss can check it off of his or her list.
