Little Tomato Yes, you would have to start a new island and if you don’t like the choices of layouts you’re given, keep restarting until you see one you like
If they do, they should let us put things under them. Plus, there’s literally a bridge type that is called “suspended” and is dipping downwards from gravity. Which is, in case you couldn’t tell, perfect for that.
kangin14 So you can move furniture around when playing in local play? If so... I’m pissed cause local play won’t work for my me and my daughter. I just get an instant communication error.
@@jermiez. idk about local play, never tried it. But I would assume you couldn't either because I think the game locks in decorations when you have visitors. If you were both residents of the same island then I think you could move.
I have had this game since release and my Island is still just flat... Seriously I was so excited had so many ideas so I flattened my Island and it's just been a flattened mess ever since I really just can't do it idk why
i wish i could move my buildings to where that building is already. like i want to nudge my house to the upper left 2 tiles but i can’t... because my house is in the way of my house...
@@windybreeze_ ugh that's annoying i tried to move the museum up 3 spaces but i couldn't so i ended up spending 100k and an extra day to move the museum also, it costs 30k to move your home and 50k to move a villager's home. which one is generally more decorated again?
Trevor Jones God a map/grid view in build mode would be so good! I just unlocked terraforming today and I would love to have the square im selecting be highlighted so i know what im changing
anyone else find the controls for terra forming frustrating, keep adding and removing the wrong things. It might be drift but adding and undoing paths/ cliffs etc shouldn’t be the same button. The controls should remap or something in island designer mode it’s a basic concept in sandbox games that get .
Yes, I was trying to make a simple stream that should have took about ten or less minutes but with the drift on my controllers it was very frustrating :/
OH MY GOD YES WHY IS NO ONE ELSE TALKING ABOUT THIS I'VE BEEN SEARCHING BUT EVERYONE IS PRAISING THE ISLAND DESIGNER LIKE YES I HAVE ANGER ISSUES BUT IT PISSES ME OFF SO FUCKING MUCH
Additional Tip that not everyone knows: From when you first plant them up to a certain size, you can shovel-up Trees WITHOUT even needing fruit energy! This is especially convenient when making Money Trees, since you can't control where the golden spots appear but might want to keep all your money trees someplace specific; just dig them up immediately after creating them, and you can go plant them anywhere you like. I imagine that a lot of players have just been afraid to try doing this, since IIRC, in previous games when you shoveled up a small plant it would destroy them instead of collecting them. :)
I knew you could pick up trees that aren't fully grown without fruit energy, but I didn't know you could move money trees and it would still grow to keep the bells. I've been too scared to try THAT. TY for that tip, that's gonna make things a lot easier.
It bothers me that we don't know anything about other shops. I can't fully plan my island if we might be getting other shops. I need to know if I need to leave some free space somewhere
@@AHeike-sp2eq Some of the NL buildings get replaced by other things in New Horizons (like your phone replacing the photo booth, a mirror replacing shampoodle, a little rolling display replacing the post office, the area in front of town hall kinda replacing club LOL, actual online play replacing dream suite, and re-tail being effectively combined with Nook's Cranny), but there are still quite a few of them that have little to no replacement. I think all the ones that could actually get added in NH would be Kicks (he already shows up as a wandering salesman, like just give him a building c'mon), the gardening store, and the fortune shop. I also think something we need is a furniture store, the few things that sell in nooks cranny once a day i feel isnt enough; like I want a whole catalogue of furniture, just like what the able sisters do with clothes. The Roost making a return would be cool also, I never got to unlocking it on new leaf and i wanna be able to experience it.
@@anty. Yes, a lot of stuff got replaced which actually makes gameplay easier but I also kinda miss them and I think the town looks pretty empty right now. I don't know why but before I got the upgrade of Nook's Cranny they always had the same ugly furniture. A furniture catalogue would be great but I hope we'll get an update for the able sisters catalogue, it's so annoying needing to go into the dressing room because you want a dress in 3 different colours. Totally agree with you.
@@lookherelooklisten7850 I do not have the game but the apperance of it and the graphic design may be helpfull for certain people if they want an one to one scale of it and having a much more cleared design but from it it is a shame you cannot modify the island..or maaaybe in the future you will be able to?..
I gotta block animal crossing content... just makes me feel terrible about my island, especially since I put so much time into the game already :( (this was a helpful video tho, thanks)
LuckyOwl777 bro, the game is still great. I’m just talking about my island in general, sometimes you just gotta focus on your own thing ya know, and me not looking at others islands helps me with that. I’m at 4 stars now :3
I feel the same way about my island ... It has 3 stars but it's pure trash and I have no ideas of how to make it look much better and on top of this I lack all the things I see in others islands...
@Livius same... rn I’m rebuilding up my island, but one thing I do is just keep experimenting with ideas, patterns help out a lot! And also adding more trees and flowers the more trees and flowers the higher your rating goes up. Check in often with Isabelle as she will give pointers to what can be done. I hope this helps :3
When you eat a turnip, you actually eat 10, so you get 10 energy out of just eating one fruit, reducing 10 times when you need to move trees. I hope this is useful for somebody.
Sorry, I'm getting confused, lol. If you eat a single turnip, you get 10 stamina? So, because the lowest amount of turnips you can buy is 10, that means you get 100 stamina from that stack of turnips?
One of my tips is to just do what feels right, wanna make a heart shaped pond? Go for it, wanna make your island complete out of fences? YEA DO IT!, there’s no wrong answers to the terraforming
Be careful if you do the platformer style paths because the special characters like CJ & Sahara can spawn on them and if they're not bigger than 2 squares then you can't get onto to them to talk to them & they can't get off them.
For the one tile cliffs and in the rivers I've been seeing a glitch happen where visitors like Flick will spawn on them. There's no way reach them while they're there. I turned my river stepping stones from one tile to two just in case
My wishes on ACNH: 1. Relocate 2 or more building at once 2. Have a bridge at cliffs 3. Cherry Blossom Trees!!!!!!! PLs :( 4. Kick villagers you want 5. Can sell things at island etc flowers my flowers are EVERYWHERE
Honestly, for a game that’s all about managing stuff and taking is easy on a daily basis, this game has so many quality-of-life issues... It’s the first game of the franchise that I’m playing, and I do enjoy it, but looking on the Internet it seems that it was always like this in many ways...
oh yes exactly, me and many of my friends play it and only some of us like me are new to the series and there are constantly soo soo many qol things that any half decent indie developer would have added/adjusted a long time ago, but seemingly nintendo doesn't care for those things
Honestly Animal Crossing has never been a very "convenient" way, they did fix some annoying things from older games, but it definetly still has a lot issues
@@poisonedcookie7845 yeah a lot of my friends that also played other AC games told me that too, but in my opinion that's a pretty lame excuse, since regardeless of what you did wrong in the past you can always fix it in the new game etc.
@@AyeRiskkk ...you have 50 custom design slots (and 50 more 'pro designs' for clothing). So you are telling me that 100 slots is not enough? How many do you need? 500? 1,000? What are you doing, making your island into a gigantic painting?
I wish there was a grid when you relocate buildings! I keep placing houses 1 space off and then I have to waste 2 days moving it away from that spot and then moving it back!
@@ghoulofthebeat4946 like, for the pattern to conform to the shape of the path, you don't need 5 different patterns with different transparent locations. There only needs to be 1 transparent pixel in the whole pattern for it to conform to any path (like, say the right edge of a path and the top end of a path can use the same pattern because of one transparent pixel)
Keep it mind! The website for planning your island is in scale much bigger than your actual island. So don't make it too detailed you won't be able to fit everything exactly how you planned out
is anyone else really stuck with what to do with the rest of their island now they have built the max amount of houses. i have half an island left with nothing but lakes rivers and cliffs and i’ve got a nice town but nothing left to build :( idk what to do now
Black Noir i’ve just built all the homes, only 10 villagers can live on your island and i wish it was more because i have a whole forest that i wish i could use as space for villagers
@@cotadog143 It lets you upload a screenshot of your map. I put that over the pre-made one and lowered the transparency so I could erase and add as needed while being able to get as accurate as possible.
Adding to moving trees: If you're moving a LOT of trees, eat turnips instead of eating fruits one by one! Eating ONE turnip will be equivalent to eating TEN fruits. This is because "1" turnip counts as 10 technically.
It really is annoying. I considered buying splatoon, only to realize I'd have to pay for it constantly. Now I use my brothers account to play animal crossing since he has online, and $20 a month for simple multiplayer functions I'll only use in one game just seems a bit off to me, especially when the games themselves are already so expensive
I’m so annoyed I started my island really badly and I’m so annoyed, literally everything is on one section of the island and it’s all really ugly ugh I’m gonna cry because it’s too late to restart. And I’m sharing with my two little brothers so they don’t help either
You don't have to restart, every building can be moved except Resident Services. It'll cost some bells, but it's really not that bad if you spend time fishing and catching bugs to sell!
IM IN THE SAME SITUATIONNNNN, i’ve talked to my friends and we all agree it’s best to restart. i have over 50 hours in the game but everything is just a mess and it’ll take weeks to finish so i might as well restart anyways
@KatieKaneen that was my whole dilemma as well. but i’ve only got 5 villagers right now and i’m only really attached to two (Plucky & Stella). i feel bad leaving my sisters but it needs to be done 😭✋🏻 godspeed to them
I'm extremely good at decorating, be it in a game or in real life with interior design. I created pixel assets for 2D games and mapped a lot with editors, but the terraforming mechanic is one of the most frustrating features I have seen a while in a game mainly build around the premise. I personally would prefer it if they added something similar to the house decorating in AC:HHP, that way the terraforming and decorating wouldn't feel so sluggish. =w= Achievement over small steps should be the main premise, but when the game is so boring and disappointing and the only good thing about is the customisation, it should be made fun and simple.
You can just use the custom design paving option on top of the first paving option and it'll still fit on the rounded parts instead of making a bunch of unnecessary patterns
First off, I love the idea of using single square hop-spots but I had a friend come over and tell me she doesn't recommend them because her boyfriend had Flick spawn on one and he couldn't build next to him to speak to him so that was a whole day of Flick and Bug sales gone because of the single square build.. Anybody else come across this issue? So many folks using this awesome way around bridges, I want to do it too.
Bonus tip for moving trees: don't do what Arekkz did. Eating fruit or eggs is wasteful as they have intrinsic value. Coconuts however! They are your least valuable items (unless you're one of the rare few with the Coconut Juice DIY) to give you power points for moving trees and smashing rocks. Also if you accidentally eat too many and are afraid of smashing a rock you can use a toilet (yes really) to remove your excess power points.
The only thing about ACNH I really dislike so far after just getting is the lack of consistency in what you’re able to do. You place something with the expectation that it’s going to be there based on your current parameters, but suddenly you unlock things like the ladder and terraforming and now you want to move everything to a better location. I’m sure someone is going to give me the smartass response if: “You should’ve planned,” but I’m not exactly an expert on ACNH or a genius builder at that. I don’t want to have to obtain every cent of knowledge from the internet, I want to go at my own pace. Thus, I’m becoming increasingly annoyed with the fact everything I’ve placed has now been opened up into different possibilities. Knowing what Tom Nook could’ve told me, shouldn’t I have known that I could put them in new locations eventually to begin with? Now I’m stuck with bad locations and it will take a huge amount of money and time to work through moving everything to possible locations.
I don't have terraforming yet but I'm thinking about my future island ..... Is it possible to build a bridge between two high hills ? (without a river) Thanks
Does anyone else playing this game get sudden overwhelming “I’m too old for this game” thoughts, or “this game is trying to depress me but imma keep playing it” kinda deal...?
I wish placing houses was easier and had better camera angles. I just moved Axel's house and it's uneven and not parallel to the house next to it.... UGHHHHH
@@NoName-xc4hk all I'm saying is that if I had that issue I wouldn't risk my life by watching videos on RU-vid. So many channels have some wild into to draw attention.
pro eating fruit tip: if yr moving a whole orchard it can take forever to eat fruit one at a time but turnips allow you to eat 10 at once (theyre the only thing that does that) and as a player who doesnt really care for the turnip stock market if i plan on doing smth like that I’ll buy a small amount and use them to max my energy
I have unlocked terraforming tools 4 days ago but haven't done anything on my island because I have no ideas ... and I have no paths to do, only the ones that the game gives me ... I wish so much I could change my island into a 5 star one but I am lacking a lot of things and ideas ... I have 10 neighbors, unlocked all the upgrades to my home and now the game feels boring. Any ideas ? This is my first time playing Animal Crossing and I have no idea what to do next. I lack design ideas a lot ... How can I get more DY's to make my island even more beautiful ? I am playing the game by myself so maybe not having friends to play with is the reason why I lack so many DY's.
I recently achieved a 5 star rating about a week ago and felt that there was nothing else to do, I had all the bunny day recipes, I caught all of the available fish and bugs for the month, and I had decorated my island to the max. Now I used the island creator site and I’m going to completely revamp my island, nice way to keep me from being bored :)
Well, that's your own fault that you cheated and time travelled. Anyways, there's going to be consistent updates, adding in new stuff every month or two, so don't worry too much...
@@phourniner They will be easier to find yes, but the game does not allow to remove/add terrain if a villager is on that square, so you cannot talk to them is there is only one square and water between you and them. I don't know it they can respawn anywhere else, maybe relauching the game helps.
Ummm ... OK so is my game missing some update or something? You commented that your “best friends” (and u also, it seems?) ... can move or pick up “placed” items (such as fences) while visiting,🤔 I have never been able to move or pick up anything while “ANY” friends are on my island. Even best friends. I think sometimes it’s possible if you are not in the same area, like one of you are in a house while the other is outside moving whatever items they need to move... but mainly we were together so my only experience is none of us being able to move anything “placed”. So I guess you could just stay with your visitor if you don’t want them to move anything. At least on my island that’s how it works :::shrug::: 🤷🏻♀️
I know this is dumb and probably won't happen, but imagine the ability to make custom buildings in new horizons! I have a bunch of diner furniture I really want to make a diner with but I wish it was indoors. I wish if there was that then like villagers would go in sometimes and interact with the objects!! The only way you could do that is make a new account and give them a house that you upgrade up to a however much you want, then make their house a diner
It would be AMAZING if someone made like a 3d version of that website. Like you can place down houses, museums, and terraform quickly on the website to get an idea lol EDIT: Also i just realized I'm 90% sure I have the same basic island layout as him
@@yarrowcentral Haha i just don't know how to phrase it but make it easier because it takes so much time cuz of the animations for it and the break/place button are the same

when i try to make little dirt or stone squares closer together it just connects them and its really bothering me because i see people have them closer without a huge gap and it makes me mad and i dont know what to do its making me want to stop playing
Bruh I have a five star rating and I’m still trying to make my island look nicer that’s Sad I thought I didn’t have to anymore because my layout is terrible
I was so overwhelmed with terraforming but I've calmed down and tried to take on my city step by step. Starting with the entrance, forming a pathway to my houses. Now i need to do some ponds. But I'm so exciting to build a Parcour
Gosh!! Why os it so expensive moving a building!! I hate the way i chose the place of my buildings + its so annoying moving one at a time. I want to se how it all looks like at the same time
I’m trying to do something big, and I wanna destroy all cliffs to make it easier and then rebuild them differently. Can I destroy all of the cliffs and make everything flat? And can I destroy the uphill river sources?
