I live in rural town in far north Australia. 16 hours away from Brisbane. It was just me and few people in the cinemas as Indian population is low here. After the climax, an Aussie co worker came for rubbish collection and paused his work, kept his mouth wide open. I asked him what he felt and he’s like “never seen something like this. Love it.” I need more of this. Thank you.

You want a review with emotions in check, (or) don't want any kind of personal bias to have with characters. I don't think that is not how Mr Sandeep would have us react that way I think the movie was( OK )but the director could have used more unspoken things. And don't show every little detail

Cinema isn’t rod, it is rod to critics. I liked the character based story telling and had problems with few scenes , Geethanjali character could have been more stronger as someone who could take the beast (Vijay). I believe the movie was marketing gave barbell a different expectation.He wanted more father and and son emotion but animal as its title suggests is like a fantasy dream come true for any person.It shows us our raw emotions which are being hidden inside us.Sometimes we want to punch the man infront of us or do anything rash like an animal and have no consequences.Vanga wanted to encapture that emotion and he was successful hence the hero has no consequences.But overall the movie is not as good as people hype it.

RK walks naked to home from heart transplant implying that he feels as if he's reborn.And it perfectly aligns with the character we have witnessed so far. The "abusive" relationship with wife : When he slaps with her bra strip,You felt it's disturbing because it's too real? He has overheard the conversation between Geetanjali and the mother.Obviously he's worried if the wife is giving it a thought and resorting to violence is his way to persuade her otherwise.He was in fear of losing her and he thinks too big of himself in begging her not to.The result is the abuse.If you could keep away your moral lens for a while,again it's in perfect sync with the character. Bobby Deol's portrayal as a Cliche : Seriously?A mute,blood-thirsty,revenge seeking,brother loving monster.How come you turn a blind eye on the scenes that led RK to Bobby in establishing the motives of the antagonist?Also followed by elaborate scenes on depicting Bobby's evil face.Also you failed to see how Sandeep Pitted a deaf protagonist against a mute aantagonist in an inevitable face-off. Post - credits scene : It's the final nail in your coffin,per se.The body double of RK that Bobby has prepped to avenge has revealed what's in the store.You conveniently trashed it because you got carried away with your agenda. P:S- Where you could have seen the brilliance and audacity of an artist you found something else,because it's your choice.

I personally liked the movie. However there are some flaws.. 1. I really wish they had explored more with father-son relationship than with Ranbir-rashmika relationship 2. The time for Ranbir to recover in the movie is too much.. though it’s important to show his physical and emotional journey during that time, still felt it’s too long.. 3. I like Bobby’s character a lot.. especially how gruesome he is.. they should have explored more of his side.. it just felt incomplete or something’s missing 4. The climax - bommarillu kind of conversation could have been better and impactful.. it didn’t move me nor I didn’t get what convinced Anil kapoor to realize and change.. 5. I might be completely wrong
Also scene to scene connection was not good. Because out of nowhere the hotel scene where a big fight happens which hasnt shown that was either planned from villain side or hero side on why did they go to hotel.

Rashmiks is the most irritating thing in the movie. Her dialogues and expressions is cringe acting. Other than that I liked other actors they did so well. Especially Ranbir, AnilKapoor and though Bobby was not there much time, his presence was great. Cringe is only Rashmika

The movie had too many logical flaws, the characters were underwritten to the extent of borderline mockery. It was also a celebration of toxic masculinity. It's an entertaining mediocre film at best only salvaged by star power, budgets, and phenomenal acting performances.

this really looks like a hate propaganda but yeah all opinions are opinions . This really felt biased and came from a personal pov . Animal is a perfect film to into a characters mind and enjoy the world . the world might have its flaws but its so damn original that the flaws are original too . Great film , great performances . And on the contrary , films length is its greatest strength . A one minute eye to eye scene with father and son meeting after years is exceptionally creafted and executed . And the naked scene is just the rebirth of character as he clearly mentions patience is important to heal and lets wait for a donor . And about rk and rashmika wife and husband thing , the abuse and all is definetely there andis triggering very intentionally . The title animal is there for a reason , the behaviour of ranbir is like a wild animal . all traits from protecting family till any extent , the instant decisions without thinking , and most importantly read about EPC in animals . You will get a lot of clarity on many things . having said all of this , i respect your opinion . As a film reviewer / critic i expect you to know '' Never judge an artist by the art '' . and sometimes we cannot judge great art , it judges us' . Animal falls into this category . great watch , go book your tickets to just have a fresh new expeience in theatres . Animal doesnt have mixed talk in india , the theatre was erupting .

You can tell Barbell didn't like the comments made by Sandeep but his reviews up till now have all been very honest. I need to see the film myself of course but films like this need honest reviewers rather than those who jump on the hype. The pre hype itself can make this film a hit so reviewers won't go deep into the negatives and only ride the wave for viewership, etc. I respect Barbell enough to know that there must be substances behind his review! Will only know for sure when I watch it

You speak your truth, and are largely open about your thought process, biases etc. I may not agree with you always, but I do accept and am willing to listen to your POV. Also, art is personal and highly subjective. Not only creating art but how we (reviewers/audience) consume/interpret/experience art is also very personal and subjective. There is no ONE WAY of reviewing a movie (or any piece of art for that matter -- a painting, song, play etc.) So SRV was off-base with his ill-thought comment on reviewing.

I taught we were on the same page when it comes to movies, but I think you watched the film with a lot of frustration on SRV. I really enjoying the first half, second half was decent, Bobby's role could have given some more importance. But overall very good flim 4/5 1 star cut for lag in second half and bobby deol character.
Sandeep has made references in the movie either visually or as a dialogue to urine, underwear, pubic hair, feminine pads, menstural cycle, penis, plevis, water break during pregnancy etc. Probably he has saved poop for next movie

If we put the misagonist and toxic masculinity and critic vs sandeep issues aside , SRV really did a great job in this film..... Especially in the first half ..the (editing cuts) transistions of Ranbir's characters ❤❤ and the crazy monkey example and how he used it at the beginning and ending...and it felt like i am watching a Martin Scorsese film and also his possesive character reminds me of Scarface Tony Montano. I am not at all exaggerating but I never felt any bore while watching this film. It has few flaws btw❤❤❤❤❤
Are you seriously comparing Vanga to Scorsese omg lol I watched Killers of the flower moon in theatres now that is actual cinema incredible story, well acted and great direction and on the other hand Animal has barely any story to it he goes on a killing spree because some guy tries to assassinate his father and don't lecture me about the character is supposed to be a bad guy BS I've watched Taxi driver, Goodfellas,Wolf of Wall Street and those films had flawed characters they were never glorified and they had to face consequences for their actions. In Animal the protagonist has zero consequences for his actions

I agree with Barbell, if not completely but in a few aspects. Like the length, and how Bobby Deol didn’t have much to do, very disappointed with that. And yes, should have a co editor with him. Also the reason why Ranbir’s character behaves so “wildly” is justified by the title of the movie. It was disturbing to watch, but it is what it is.

i watched the movie a week after it's release. i saw people saying the film is good and the collections of the movie too are huge after a week. i've also saw many people criticizing the movie especially the portrayal of the women. my take is the movie is a big let down... almost no area is explored in the movie even the toxic masculinity part too felt like an unexplored part. acting crazy and unprecedentedly is not masculine even if the one doing it has a huge body. like barbell said even we could not connect to father-son bond, and never connect to husband-wife, hero-villain feud. there is justification for runvijay to get angry.. but on villains part there is no reason why they wanted to just kill the Balbir singh. the first half fights felt like a big joke and they are actually non intensive- how can in capital city someone can bring mini tank like machine gun and police could not find the culprits. the only fight i felt like attached is last fight with bobby deol..cause of that background song. that is a really good fight in all aspects. the movie could be more satisfiable if booby is the one won that fight. all i can see was runvijay being so crazy he fired an automatic gun in his own house with his father, mother and kids sleeping right there.
నా మైండ్ లోంచి పోవడం లేదు.. అర్జున్ రెడ్డి సినిమా గురించి తెలిసి చూసే ధైర్యం చేయలేదు. పొరపాటున చూసిన ఆ సందీప్ రెడ్డి వంగ జంతు ప్రదర్శన శాల గురించి మాట్లాడితే... చిన్నపుడు నుంచి అన్నయ్య అని పిలిపించుకున్న తనని ఆల్ఫా అనే లాజిక్ చెప్పి పడేయడం. ఈ దరిద్రం ఇప్పటి సమాజంలో , పిల్లలు ముందు మూతులు నాక్కోవడం. మన చుట్టూ ఉన్న పిల్లలు చూస్తారని తలుచుకుంటే .. కడుపులో ఏదో తెలియని కంపరం.. అక్క మొగుడిని చంపి కొత్త బావను తీసుకొస్తా అని అక్కకే చెబుతాడు. నేను పోయిన తరువాత పెళ్లి చేసుకోకు అని సొంత పెళ్ళానికి చెబుతాడు హీరో... మూర్ఖత్వం+పిచ్చి+ ఉన్మాదం+ టార్చర్ ఈ మూడింటిని మిక్సిలో వేసి కొడితే వచ్చేదే అనిమల్ సినిమా. ఆ సందీప్ రెడ్డి వంగ దృష్టిలో తండ్రి-కొడుకు ప్రేమ. తండ్రి మీద ప్రేమ అంటే తండ్రి మాట వింటూ ఈగ మీద వాలకుండా చూసుకోవాలి. ఈ సైకో హీరో కొడుకు దెబ్బకి తండ్రి వీడికి దూరంగా ఉండాలనుకుంటాడు. సర్జరీ అయ్యాక యూరిన్ పైపు లేకపోయినా నేను తిరుగుతున్నాను అని చెప్పడానికి లాన్ లో గుడ్డలు విప్పుకుని స్టాఫ్ ముందు తిరుగుతాడు . ఇది రచయిత డైరెక్టర్ దృష్టిలో హీరో పాత్ర ఆత్మ విశ్వాసం.. అండర్ వేర్లు గురించి, కింద షేవింగ్ గురించి, స్టాఫ్ తో పంచాయితీ పెట్టడం అదొక గొప్ప సన్నివేశం అన్నట్టు 3:20 నిమిషాలు నిడివి గల సినిమాలో కట్ చేయకపోవడం.. హీరోయిన్ అయిన తన భార్యను లాగి పీకి కాళ్ళు పట్టుకుంటాడు. వీపుపై గాయపరచి తరువాత వెన్నపూస రాయడం.. భందువులను తన స్వార్థం కోసం వాడుకోవడం బలి చేయడం. భర్త హార్ట్ డోనేట్ చేసిన లేడీతో సంసారం చేయడం. హీరోయిన్లతో పోటీపడి హీరో నగ్నంగా నటించడం మరొక హైలెట్ ఆఖరి 40 నిమిషాల ముందు అసలు విలన్ బాబి డియోల్ మూడో పెళ్లి చేసుకోబోతూ ఎంజాయ్ చేస్తూ మూగోడిగా ఎంటరవుతాడు. విలన్ పెళ్ళి చేసుకునే చోటనే ఒకడిని చంపుతాడు. ఆ రక్తపు చేతులతో పెళ్లి చేసుకుని, ఆ రక్తసిక్తమైన మొఖంతో తన కొత్త పెళ్ళాం మీద అక్కడ రేప్ లాంటి శోభనం కూడా మొదలెడతాడు.. హీరో పాత్ర అల్ ఖైదా పీకలు కోసే విడియోలు చూసి నేర్చుకున్నట్టు చాలా శ్రద్ధగా పీక కోయడం చూపిస్తాడు దర్శకుడు. రెండు బుల్లెట్లు తగిలినా చావుని తండ్రి కోసం ఒక 400 మందిని చంపుతాడు హీరో.. పై పాయింట్స్ కాక ఇంకా చాలా ఆణిముత్యాలు ఉంటాయి. కత్తితో పొడవడం ఓల్డ్ అనుకున్నాడేమో.. మటన్ కొట్టినట్టు మనుషులను కత్తులతో నరుకుతుండే పాత్రలు అన్ని ఇక్కడ పుష్కలంగా ఉంటాయి. స్వార్థం ఉన్మాదంతో ఇంతకు ముందు ఎవరూ తీయలేదా అంటే తీసారు. అందులో యాక్షన్, పాత్రల వీరత్వం ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ పరిధిలో ఉండేవి. ఇలా ఏదోక జోనర్ పరిధిలోకి వస్తాయి. ఒకవేళ ఉన్నా ఒకటి అర సిన్ల వరుకే ఉండేవి. చాలా తలలు నరికే సీన్లు చూస్తుంటాము . అక్కడ ఎక్కడా కనపడని భయానకంగా సందీప్ వంగా టేకింగ్ కనపడుతుంది. సహజంగా ఇటువంటి పాత్రలు విలన్ గా చూపెడతారు. సందీప్ వంగా మాత్రం హీరోగా చూపెడతాడు అదే ప్రమాదం.. నాకు అనిపించింది ఏంటంటే ఏదో బలమైన మానసిక రుగ్మతతో సందీప్ వంగా బాధపడుతున్నాడు .ఇతనికి ఖచ్చితంగా కౌన్సెలింగ్ అవసరం . సమాజం ఈరోజుల్లో సినిమాలనుంచి మెసేజ్ లు ఆశించడం లేదు. ఇటువంటి మానసిక రోగులు తీసే సినిమాల ప్రభావం ఖచ్చితంగా యువత మీద ఉంటుంది.. ఒకప్పుటి ఈ ఫిజియోథెరపీ డాక్టర్ సందీప్ వంగా తీసే సినిమాలకి మాత్రం ఎప్పటికీ పోను...🙏 Copied from Raj
Bro after your rant on Sandeep, it impossible to now think that your review isn’t filled with agenda. Your rant ruined my experience of your channel. For the past few weeks I have been repeatedly watching even old Telugu movie reviews on your channel and having a nice time. But after your rant on Sandeep, I cannot assume that your review is honest anymore.
Wasn’t everyone biased with liger when vijay devarakonda was going over with the hype. Sandeep is a below average director at most, he shouldn’t act like rajamouli yet.
Watched the movie after your review with low expectation. Thanks for your review got entertained. My rating 2.5/5. This movie has the best of Ranbir, Bobby and excellent BGM. Vanga should have a editor in future and better not drag controversies into work.
Peak scenes of the movie(spoiler alert): 1. Ranbir's acting... Never scene ranbir in such a good role... One of the best roles in his career 2. Action scene 1: he goes to his sister's college with an ak47 3. Sister kosam emaina chese character 4. Action scene 2: The best thing i loved so much... The interval action scene.... Beautifully executed 5. Rashmika's acting in karva chauth scene.... Best acting I've seen from rashmika 6. BGM and music was top notch... Seats ayithe oogipoyayi bgm ki These were the top 6 points i loved in the movie.... Father sentiment antha connect avvaledu... But baagane try chesaru... More of an action and bold movie... My rating for the movie: 8/10 (For actors effort which was evident and action scenes)
