@@drunkkhajit5035 Well I mean you could say the same thing about humans, we are how we are because of the mates our ancestors chose. So we were bred to be humans. Not much difference. So does that mean that the love you feel for someone isn't because you really love them but because you are geneticaly disposed to do it? It doesn't make the love less valid. You still feel it even if it's just chemicals reacting in your brain. Same thing for the dogs.

I would LOVE to see more breakdowns of animals in movies, particularly horses and birds, as well as more exotic species (when not CGI these days, of course - or maybe that's a whole segment in itself: breaking down scenes with mixed media, when it's CGI vs a live animal and why, etc).

I watched something awhile back (probably on animal planet) about how they use spiders for movies. For instance a trantuala. They basically use a straw to blow on the spider to get it to move in the desired direction. I'd love to see a video on the types of queues and commands to teach horses to safely fall over (like in battle scenes or shootouts in westerns).

Something I've been curious about for a while is why purebred dogs are used to portray mutts in some movies. 'Marmaduke' was a good example of this. In it, there are two gangs: "Pedigrees" and "Mutts". But they're ALL pedigrees. I think 'Hotel For Dogs' is the same in using only pedigree dogs.
@Vamcat
@Vamcat 5 лет назад
I’m not an animal trainer but I think some breeds can be more responsive compared to others if that makes sense? If they were to get a mixed breed it’d be hard to predict how they’d respond to commands and most mutts are commonly found in shelters, which can be more of a challenge to train depending on their background.

Was a german pointer named lexi. When you walked inside she would be on the stairs going crazy and she would do this thing where she showed just her front teeth like she was smiling. She loved tennis balls and would have two in her mouth trying to get a 3rd in there while having 5 more in between her paws. When it snowed she would leap through 2 feet of snow like a deer. Man I miss her, sorry for the vent, that dog scene just had me going through the memories.

What's interesting to me is with the original Air Bud series (the Original 5, before the Air Buddies became a thing) I actually know and have been to where they were filmed. It's in Fort Langley, BC The big yellow building they call the museum in the movies, is actually the Fort Langley courthouse building. And the Ice Cream shop Buddy passes by, that's actually a really cool 50s style diner.

I was obsessed with the airbud movies as a kid, so it’s ironic bud was found in my S.O’s family cabin. They found a little puppy wondering around their property and when they threw pine cones at him, the puppy would bounce them back

I’ve been saying for YEARS that I always notice when a dog is a ‘bad’ or good actor in movies and for YEARS I’ve been laughed at.... I’m so happy, thank you for this video!
