I did not use any polish for the Animamundi metallic plaster. It is just naturally shiny and metallic. What I filmed was what it will look like without any extra products. If you did want to seal the metallic plaster you can use Firenzecolor Clear Coat to give it some protection. You can find that product here: bit.ly/firenzecolor-clear-coat

I usually use a MDF board. I pre-prime these with either a paint primer or quartz primer. Let me know if you have an other questions.

Thanks I really appreciate the info if you were to recommend a starter kit for Venetian plaster to someone what tools and materials would be essential to getting started in this hobby for a beginner. Iv seen most of your videos so I have an idea but I’d like to make a list so I know what I need just to get started.

That's a really good idea to put together a starter Venetian plaster bundle. I'll probably build a list out of tools and supplies you'd need but until then I will list some here for you to get started. Again, these are just my recommendations so feel free to take this and find your own. - MDF board (or any smooth board. MDF is usually easiest) - Paint Primer such as Bulls Eye 1-2-3 or Kilz (use this if you are applying a thin/high gloss venetian plaster) - Quart Primer - bit.ly/firenzeprimer (use this if you are applying thicker/more matte venetain plaster. Most plasters would fall into this category other than glossly or metallic) - Application Trowel - bit.ly/x-trowel-trap (my favorite is the X Trowel although when I started I used a $30 dollar trowel off amazon) - Finishing Towel or Burnishing Trowel - bit.ly/x-trowel-finishing (If you don't have the money, you don't need this right away but a good thing to get down the road) - Joint Knife - bit.ly/marmorino-tools-stainless-steel-scraper (these are used to get product on trowel and to apply in tight areas. I use a 4in or 100mm size) - Plaster - bit.ly/marmorino-ks (our favorite is marmorino KS. It's more of a matte/satin plaster. If you're interested in looking at other plasters, you can check more our here - bit.ly/venetian-plasters) These are maybe the most important items to get started. After you get going there are other things you'll want to get but with these tools/supplies you'll be able to practice and get started. Also, if buying Venetian plaster is too expensive to practice with, you can also go to the hardware store and pick up some Feather Finish or some sort of drywall mud/joint compound. Although these wont be the same, they will allow you to get the feel for applying material with a trowel. Hope this helps!

I intend to do marble style Venetian plaster as well as raised stencil art plaster, Iv been addicted to learning the process before I begin.
